We pushed them into the Saginaw Bay last year.  Most didn't make it, but the ones that did are refreshingly less smelly.

We rounded them up and pushed them into the Saginaw Bay last year.  Those that survived at least smell a bit better.

When was the last time the Dirty Kids were here?  I seem to recall them getting the boot after they were pooping in West Park and hassling shopkeepers downtown.  Been a few  years since I've heard about them.

There's always music fests in Somerset, WI.  One year they were making announcements not to share beer bongs because there was a herp outbreak.  OZ Fest had some really good line-ups back in the day.

Well, it has Flint and Detroit (and god knows what in between), so I'd say the Baltimore of the north.

Having in both Detroit and Flint last week, I'd like you to know that... Yeah, they are both smoking holes where cities used to be.  But they ARE showing signs of life.  Flint just has a big Farmer's Market open up right in downtown next to the UofM Flint campus, they tore down the old Genesee Towers and apparently have a new...  SOMETHING going in, and they are apparently expanding the college campus.  The downtown area is actually quite nice, as long as you stay to the Bricks.  Outside of their, it's a bit scary.

Meanwhile, down in Detroit, gentrification is happening.  If you are downtown near The Joe or Comerica Park/Ford Field, it's downright pleasant.  I don't care for "The D," that big ass casino in downtown, but at least it's jobs I guess.  Around Wayne State U is quite nice, because say what you about hipsters but they know how to move into a derelict area and spruce it up.  And the beer...  Oh man, the beer.  New craft breweries are opening up all over down there, using old factories and car shops.

If you ever go, get to Motor City Brewing Works and get a pint of the Ghetto Blaster.  Damn good stuff, that.

Born in Saginaw, lived in Grand Rapid until the second half of fifth grade when we moved to Birch Run.  Raised there until I graduated, got married to a Navy chick (or "wench," in the parlance) and got the hell out of Dodge.  Spent the last sixteen years trying to get our asses back there, with little success.  The Navy has this annoying fetish about having "oceans" and "active military bases" around to be useful.
