Hello dog, this is asthma...

Everything about this is stupid.

Dog's full of crap, just doesn't want to do her share of the housework...."Oh, my allergies!", "Oh, my back!", blah blah blah...

On the Internet, everybody knows that your dog has allergies.

What exactly is stupid? I'm willing to bet the owner goes a little overboard, but dogs definitely have allergies too. Ours gets a nasty looking rash of raw hotspots on his neck due to allergies. Benadryl works wonders.

Wow that was an extremely informative article. The details were truly dizzying. I also like the picture of the puppy to represent a 3 y/o dog.

Who the fark writes this garbage?

So they should just let the dog be sick, miserable and die?

OK

Dog have allergies, sometimes very serious ones.  Not saying the owner might not be a little OTT, but you're not paying for it and it's not your dog.

Our boxer is allergic to grass, which, you can imagine, works out real well being a dog and all.

w.t.f.?  It's not news, it's...a dog with allergies.   LOTS OF DOGS have allergies.   Given the complete shiat that is put into dog food these days, that should be expected

Satan's Bunny Slippers: but you're not paying for it and it's not your dog.

If you're not willing to pay, regardless of cost to help your dog, don't get a dog, period. There's no argument you can make that would change my opinion on that.

When I was in H.S. we had an older dog who would get those on his back, and boy were those nasty.  We used something called Seldane (which was removed from the market in 1998) but was very effective for him.

/RIP Charlie dog.

Vegetarian meals? For a carnivore? Wasn't there a story a while back about a kitten that almost died .... and a human child as well ... because of this?

you're a grumpy person.  Must be great to know everything, too.

There's a very good reason why people and animals are more sensitive to things now than they used to be.  Actually, there's several reasons...but one primary reason.   Low-tech folk deep in rainforests and jungles don't have allergies, asthma, and etc anywhere near as much as we do here - and we're not just making it up.  There is something specific about them that is causing the difference in the rates of these types of ailments.

dogs aren't carnivores.  They're omnivores.  Just sayin.

Cats, on the other hand, are carnivores.

You may not be aware of this, but dogs and cats are not the same species.

I'm not grumpy, I ws being sarcastic and making a joke. I have known one person who is truly Celiac and she was miserable until she finally got the right diagnosis (diabetic, hair falling out, drastic weight loss, etc.). I have known LOTS of people who claim to be "gluten intolerant" as they wolf down half a pizza....

Don't I know it. I was pooch sitting a frineds pit last weekend and she managed to slurp up goose poop twice during a walk through the park. Most disgusting green smile you'll ever wittness. Stupid dog; she'll be lucky if she doesn't get worms again.

That's because if you have those ailments in low tech places, you die, which prevents you from passing on your bad genes. It's very simple. We have more medical problems in some ways because we can treat them.

In their natural state they don't just eat fresh meat completely free from bacteria, you know. Dogs will eat anything. Including actual shiat.

I was told to sprinkle Adolphs tenderizer in the (offensive) dog's food and they wouldn't eat their own caca, the vet said it makes it taste bad. I'm like ??? Shiat doesn't taste bad enough??

Nope, that's not it.  My dog has allergies now, she didn't when she lived on the streets of Tijuana.

The difference?  She had lots of parasites then.  Want to be free from allergies, diabetes, etc?  Get hookworms.
