Damn, he's pretty good. It's funny, though, if you listen to him singing, it sounds like he doesn't speak English at all and was just mimicking the vocalizations.

Damn. I can barely listen to that and chew gum at the same time. Playing it and singing is amazing.

Also, YouTube will pull this for copyright infringement in 3...2...

Here's "Walk Of Life" done by an Italian rockabilly band.  You can here some serious accents in there.

Oblig: Brazilian?  I just saw one...

/I suppose I should watch the video next.

That's not an easy piece of music to play, and that guy was having conversations with people while playing it. Impressive.

Damn near note for note there.  Good stuff.  Loved that his own solo at the end fit with the style of the song perfectly.  Unless that was from a live cut or something I haven't heard.  Either way, excellent musician.

actually, Dire Straits and MK are generally something that is pretty easy to find on YT.  I get the sense that most MK stuff last longer on YouTube than most other songs.

Case in point

Would really like to get my hands on the rest of this album, but MK and the Clapton official video is the only thing I can find right now.

God dammit. It's bad enough that I get depressed about my shiatty guitar skills watching Knopfler play it... seeing some guy bust that out on the street is almost enough to make me polish off my brand new bottle of Lagavulin.

He needs to contact Emmerson Nogueira, for a full time job.

That was excelente. I always liked Knopfler's guitar playing and music. This guy is amazing, considering he didn't have a backing band. I agree with Lokasenna. I could never get there.

Oh, very much this.

He don't give a damn about any trumpet-playing band.

The old dude in the green shirt is the best.  "Eh, I don't care.  I'm looking at a map.  Now I'm looking at the sky.  I'll give the young fool a penny.  Now I'm thoroughly confused, perhaps medically."

Nice find .

Probably one of the best played covers of that I have seen. Very talented. Great find.

I'm depressed too! Really, really depressed. Let's crack that sucker.

Yeah, what the heck was he doing? The guy must have been selling CDs or something.

I don't believe that a cover is a copyright infringement. I think there are different rules for live performances and covers of other people's music. If I remember correctly Pearl Jam did not get permission to cover "Last Kiss", so they donated all of the proceeds so they technically didn't make any money off of their cover.

I've always wanted to play this song with that much inflection and soul. This dude farking nails it all the way through.

He can really pull it off. That song is the epitome of the clean Strat sound.

This guy is really good.

The biker, who feels he has to talk with him in the middle of the song and then touch him so he knows he is leaving money, is really annoying.

2014-07-12 01:34:01 AM
I was watching that and thinking, "Okay, if he nails the guitar riffs at the end, I'll be truly impressed."  And then he did it.  While thanking people.  Like it weren't no thang.  And thus was I truly impressed.

/Sultans was the first song I heard from DS back in the day.
