Funny but it could have been done better.

bdub77: Funny but it could have been done better.

Would have been funny if it was a single scene and about 10 seconds long.  3 minutes, in slow motion, and set to music was just painful.

Would have been funny as a candid camera type show with a bald douche wearing an orange Robben jersey.

Actual video didn't get me to crack a smile.

To be fair the girl in the bar who got her ass slapped had a nice ass. I'd risk a red card for that.

The music was good, but the fact that it was just 4 scenes over and over and over made it tough. The music was perfect for what they were doing, though. Better than I could scare up for free.

just like a cover band and gymnastics, only the ending matters.

Or, on the other hand...

Minions.

They needed to all get back up again really quickly at the end and go back to business as if nothing happened.

I like the guy peeking through his fingers to see if anyone's watching at about 1:56.

I know little to nothing about soccer.  What is a flop and why do players do it?

Cloudchaser Sakonige the Red Wolf: I know little to nothing about soccer.  What is a flop and why do players do it?

A flop is flopping onto the ground after minor contact (or sometimes none at all) so that it looks like the player was fouled.

They do it to draw penalties and/or to take a break from running.

Cloudchaser Sakonige the Red Wolf:

What is a flop

A cheap attempt to trick referees into calling penalties on the other team by suddenly falling down and writhing around on the ground like the other team's guy shot you in the knee.

and why do players do it?

Because soccer players don't mind embarrassing themselves and the entire male gender, and because officiating is so atrocious in soccer that it often works.

Too long; they needed someone to be stretchered off in agony only to make a miraculous recovery after a yellow card.

That looked like Boston Bruins getting hit, minus the death threat parts.

Could have saved a lot of money by using Montreal Canadian footage.

No, in basketball they do it because they can't punch the other guy out for endangering them anymore.

Rustico: I'll take 'Bad Overacting on an Over-Used Premise' for 200, please Alec.

Agreed, but despite all the merciless mocking for the last 10+ years from proper sports-loving countries like the USA and Australia, soccer STILL hasn't learnt it's lesson. So the over-used premise must go on.

How have players and coaches not been shamed into changing their ways? Everyone is laughing at them, and rightly so.

I have to admit I get the bug every 4 years.... but jeez I'm glad I don't follow the game. What a cun*t of a sport. A game, a tournament, can be decided on the result of a flop.

// Leo Messi is an exception
// love how he goes about it

They could make a video about NFL in real life, and have everyday people go free for assault, rape, drug dealing, murder, and then go back to playing like nothing happened.

Someone needs to do a quiz with various pictures of Neymar on the ground in his last game and make people choose "faking" or "actually broken back" just to see if people can tell if he is really hurt or just crying like a little girl.

the guy dove like 7 times that game and got his back broken once.  Each time looked the same.

Whenever I see a world where everyone in every role is a 20-something dorky hipster, I quickly realize I'm watching an "improv troupe".

The other clue is that it's grotesquely over-acted and painfully unfunny.

Having the whole thing be in slow motion was a bit much. Would have been better to have only a few bits (like the guy laying on the floor with salad raining down) be in slow motion.

Lighten up Francis.

I agree with the sentiment that the final scene should have been them getting up and resuming work like nothing happened as soon as the "offending party" was disciplened.

Of course...I must be overflowing with outrage.  Couldn't be that I just thought it looked like a bunch of unfunny dorks.

Keep on projecting, Francis.

I love comments from pissed off whiney soccer fans that don't actually address the topic of flopping.

(Apart from Stamberg, Simon, and Adams) she was the only one I didn't look up. I've heard her name now for two decades (?). I knew how to spell it.
