Yeah, but that doesn't show as a "win" in their score sheet. If they want to become a judge or Senator, they need to have raw numbers that say they were hard on crime.

If this prosecutor and police department want dick pics so bad that they're willing to take a kid to a hospital to get them, people should help them out by sending any pictures of erected penises they can find to the sheriff's email.

The One True TheDavid: ZAZ: Foster said the case began when the teen's 15-year-old girlfriend sent photos of herself to the 17-year-old, who in turn sent her the video in question. The girl has not been charged, and her mother filed a complaint about the boy's video, Foster said.

The boy should file a complaint against the girl.

Courts here ruled that asymmetric prosecution in prostitution cases is unconstitutional. The prostitute can have her charges dropped if police don't charge johns equally. That was based on state law.

On the other hand, the U.S. Supreme Court upheld a California law setting different ages of consent for boys and girls. Under federal constitutional law it's OK to selectively prosecute boys in sex cases.

But in this case the 15 year old committed a worse crime (assuming those were naked pictures). 15 is farther under the age of consent for porn than 17 is.

Came here to point this out. Pleased it's already been done.

As we all know, it's sexist to hold women accountable for their actions. Men are little more than perverted beasts waiting to defile whatever they can, and should be harshly punished whenever possible.

This strategy should be used for just about everything that's non-violent, making sure the offender knows that law enforcement has the evidence to convict on it if the offender gets in trouble again.  I'm not looking but I remember seeing somewhere that it did a great job of getting the drug trade out of certain neighborhoods.  I'm sure the hardcore ones just found somewhere else to go, but there are some places that are better than others for drug dealers to hang out (away from as many innocent bystanders as possible) and it might have put some non-hardcore people back on the right track.

So...wow. OK.

Well. I certainly hope the prosecutor and police get what's coming to them. Shouldn't we be able to charge public figures with obvious waste of taxpayer money? How farking many sexts do they think were sent between high school students during the course of their railroa....I mean investigation?

I'd be willing to bet that number would take a few years to count to.

What the fark is wrong with police today? Police get enormous pensions that we pay for, they bust peaceful people with a gram of marijuana and those hippies go to jail for life in prison, the police extort normal people and plant drugs on them when those normal people have done nothing wrong, then, when it all quiets down, the police shoot their dogs. Who are the folks that profit from this?

Maybe our teen boy needs to alter the appearance of his peen. A mustache, some tats, a little cap, and some dark sunglasses should give Mr. Happy a good disguise.

Seriously, making a 17 year old get a woody for the cops is all kinds of messed up. How does the 15 year old girl receiving some dick pics (possibly unwanted but likely not) translate into a lifetime on the sex offender registry?

2014-07-09 08:51:27 PM

Kalashinator: No ITG comments yet? Ok.

If I'm in the 17-year old's shoes, does some Manassas City cop really want to be murdered while attempting to force a minor to have an erection and manufacture child pornography?  And does the prosecutor who pushed for it and the judge who signed the warrant really want to facilitate all that?

Read that as fallaciate

Police cant charge anyone without the prosecutors help.

The prosecutor can always decide to not charge someone the police suggest charging.

I dont think it is the police departments fault....overzealous prosecutor in an isolated incid......  BWAHAHAHAHA

I couldnt finish that last sentence. Sorry.

Dear Manassas has an established history of being fascinated with such things. It was where John Wayne Bobbitt had his unfortunate accident. Three years ago, the town got a case of the pearl-clutching vapors because an "adult" store opened in Old Town. They subsequently changed their zoning laws so it could never happen again, which I think is considered spot zoning, which is illegal.

See here:

http://www.tbd.com/blogs/amanda-hess/2011/04/manassas-sex-shop-fight- c uts-across-class-lines-10502.html

Lastly but most disturbing, Bob Marshall is the state delegate for Manassas. Take a stroll through his Wikipedia page to get an idea of what kind of specimen he is.

nyseattitude: The case was dismissed, but police immediately obtained new charges and also a search warrant for his home. Police also arrested the teen and took him to juvenile jail, where Foster said they took photos of the teen's genitals against his will.

I don't know what the new charges are.

I'd like to know why the police so hell bent on ruining this kids life.

My guess; Shrill harpy soccer mom with a connected hubby and/or civil lawyers on speed dial

The 17-year old should gear up to sue any medical practitioner unethical enough to deliver medically unnecessary treatment.

EXACTLY.

Police also arrested the teen and took him to juvenile jail, where Foster said they took photos of the teen's genitals against his will.

Oh, boy, I smell a lawsuit...

Foster asked how that would be accomplished and was told that "we just take him down to the hospital, give him a shot and then take the pictures that we need."

Holy shiat, are you kidding me???? If this lawyer doesn't take the city for everything they have, he absolutely sucks as a lawyer.

doglover: So to "protect" children, we have to spend taxpayer time and money to sexually assault them in hospitals in order to send them to jail?

fark that. There should be the option for a jury to, with a unanimous vote, to send the prosecutor to jail for the "crime" they were trying to prosecute instead.

I thought were didnt have to bare witness against ourselves

If there's a way to permanently kill the sex drive of a 17 year old boy, a national conversation as to whether a bunch of police should look at his medically induced boner is probably it.

2014-07-09 09:03:53 PM
We need this statement enshrined somewhere:

Upholding the law is not a valid defense for breaking the law.

And then hold authority accountable to it with stiff mandatory penalties for infractions committed "under color of authority".

2014-07-09 09:04:11 PM
I agree that the girl is just as liable here. I was fairly wild as a teen, but having a handsome young son, I can't believe how psycho slutty teen girls can be these days. Their enabling parents don't want to admit it. One chased my son when he was a junior. Kind of freaked him out. She sent a nudie pic and his dad was there when she sent it. Dad said "The girl is nuts. Delete this and stay away from her." The girl ended up later accusing two boys, on different occasions, of raping her. I don't discount rape in the slightest, but when this girl knocked on my door, I smelled psycho on her. Had my son not had any common sense, he'd have been accused too.

I would have too for that matter. I dated a very mature 16 year old for a while when I was 19. I'm sure his girlfriends after me appreciated that he wasn't a fumbling noob.

2014-07-09 09:04:15 PM
How can one be charged with molesting themselves? The nessessary intent cannot possibly be there. Are we going to charge masturbating teenagers with statutory rape?

And beyond that, how can you charge someone as an adult for being underaged? The legal definition of underaged anything requires them to be too young to knowledgably provide consent. The legal requirement for being charged as an adult requires precisely the opposite. These things cannot be true simultaneously. Any argument for one position necessarily invalidates the other.

How in the world did this even get to trial?

What if the kid has a mental breakdown and cant have normal relationships and this event turns him into an actual predator?

Hopefully the judge and prosecuter will lose in the next erection.

2014-07-09 09:04:26 PM
Foster said Detective Abbott told her that after obtaining photos of the teen's erect penis he would "use special software to compare pictures of this penis to this penis. Who does this? It's just crazy."

I'll give you three guesses who does this, and the first two don't count.

The article said the 17yo in question is a football player.  I have a sneaking suspicion that the 17yo is a black kid, and the 15yo is a white girl.  That would explain why the police and the prosecutor have such a hard-on for him.

Wasn't there a girl in Pennsylvania or something that was charged with that? I recall seeing it on Fark. The girl was in juvie or something and got caught diddling herself. Any of you farkers want to refresh my memory?

Yeah, i was going to ask why only the guy was charged and not the girl if they were both minors? Especially considering she sent the first pics according tfa.

Nope kids, BuzzFeed, as much as I hates them, has pictures and the name of the boy: http://www.buzzfeed.com/rachelzarrell/police-have-a-warrant-to-see-te e nagers-erection-in-sexting-c

He's White, so there's some other conspiracy angle you guys should chase. I;m inclined to agree it's something personal. They have his electronic devices, so WTFF is going on with this?

Is the irony tag on vacation or the sick tag sick? Obvious seems kind of a bad choice.

The answer, while as obvious as the nose on your face, makes some people uncomfortable.  I've heard of cases where a 15 year old boy knocked up a 17 year old girl and got prosecuted for it.

For the same crime a black man will spend more time in jail than a hispanic man than a white man than a woman.

Just look at the male teacher to female teacher sentencing ratio when it comes to diddling students.
