Yes, but if you extrapolate the co-inversial inflation rate adjusted for recessionary growth and the anti-rated negative market caps that are the harbingers of the Obama economy, you realize that a $120 billion reduction in 2019 dollars is actually an increase in real dollars of almost twice that sum, even after accounting for the potential recovery period of an intervening Republican presidency.

We've been repeatedly and frequently assured that Medicare is dooomed, doooomed! and there's no way it will make it to 2019 without collapsing the US into a Mad Max-style hellhole, so it's a trick question really.  Just like Social Security.

$80 for Medicare, yes. But spending for Conservacare would be nearly double the previous level of Medicare, and the vouchers it would provide to senior citizens would give them roughly a third of their previous services.

Subby doesn't understand baseline budgeting.

Here's the lay persons guide: Go to your boss and say you budgeted for a 10% raise next year.  When next year comes and you get a 3% raise, complain about a 7% cut in pay.

And if that story is actually true, they should reset the baseline to the new estimated amount.  But they won't because it's not.

No wonder Tom Coburn hates Obamacare so much! If he has to adhere to it, he'll have to consider

McDuck's.  (Proclamation: no doctors in Congress, ever.)

I was going to ask if the reduced cost is still covering what it needs to, but I have found my answer. You don't really hear enough about the good things that are going on in Congress, if the fat-cutting is true.
