Now, my German is rudimentary at best (as in I can say 'Hello', 'Goodbye', and 'A beer please'), but I'm
thinking the German version of "hahahahahahahaha" is "hahahahahahahahaha".

How many of them were from the Brazilian goalie?

Lord knows, he must have been distracted by something.

I made the crack last night, "and in unrelated news, the hotel the German team was staying in burned to the ground.  No cause has been determined."

I'm still waiting for that one.  Although, the riots DID break out pretty much as expected.

I am guessing pretty much everyone not from Brazil was laughing at that one.

I just wish the Germans scored one more goal, to match their total from all the prior games.

Wouldn't that be "yesyesyesyesyes" in German? I think they do it the way you typed in Spanish, though. Could be wrong of course.

Yeah, if only Brazil had played only to lose 1-0 once they fell behind, they'd still be eliminated from the World Cup today.

What would make me feel better as an American soccer fan is the willingness to play a style that could result in a lopsided loss, rather than moral victories.

For those wondering... "Hallo" "Tschüss" (which sounds kinda like "truce") and "Bier, bitte."

Duolingo is fun, and I get to learn all about how wichtig the Fliege is. It's pretty darn wichtig, and it drinks Bier.

I was going to make a joke about how Brazil should just clone some of Germany's players, but it's probably been done already.

Another thing I can say about this...

If all soccer games scored as high as that one, the sport would be MUCH more popular in this country.

Whos idea was it to make the field the size of 40 city blocks?!

Then again, when the US played Germany, there wasn't any pressure on Germany; they'd already qualified for the next round; it was practically a 'friendly'.

Dr Dreidel: // the real joke was Brazil's D between 19' and 33'

Yeah that was no display of German might/efficiency/masterrace/whatever, nor was even Brazil's D "exposed" in the sense everyone usually means (merely overrated).  That wasn't pathetic or even inexcusable; it was WTF.  I mean really, WTF?  There is no stage greater than World Cup yet they had the kinds of breakdowns and mistakes you don't expect to see even among college players.  If they were paid to lose, they'd better already be on charter flights to countries without extradition treaties with Brazil.

An astoundingly poor performance from a legendary soccer powerhouse? Of course Twitter blew up. Certainly the most appalling performance by a host country in World Cup history. The streets of Rio are awash in tears of sorrow and rage today. Hard lesson to learn, but I expect them to be resilient enough to shake it off and thoroughly revamp their football program going forward.

Now that's interesting:  I had thought it was "Guten Tag/Guten Abend" and "Auf Widerzein" for the first

From my experience in Germany they were more likely to use hallo for hi and ciao to say bye

Also, Erdnuesse is peanuts.
