Conservatives as communist dupes? Well, watch me clutch my pearls and shakily reach for my sal volatile.

"It's a bizarre claim, and self-serving, and they've produced no evidence of any kind to prove it. Obviously we're skeptical, but we're making calls right now to see what we can dig up." Carlson said.

Unlike the bizarre, self serving claim that Menendez hired underage prostitutes, which Carlson wasn't skeptical about at all.

24 hour news network navel gazing?

Pass.

I'm tired of it.  Burn Fox, MSNBC, and CNN to the ground, and start again with credibility.

Cognitive dissonance isn't a problem to people like Tucker, it's a requirement.

Encounter with any sort of intelligence would make Tucker Carlson defensive.

It's a bizarre claim...

I don't think he actually understands the word "bizarre".

He thinks it involves OMC.

Oh, NOW he's interested in following up on the veracity of a story.

Two days later, on the July 13, 2007 'Tucker',Carlson again insisted he'd defend a Democratic senator in the same position as Vitter, saying: "I wish David Vitter were a Democrat.  I wish he were a liberal Democrat.  I wish he were Russ Feingold, because then I would defend him every bit as zealously as I am defending not what David Vitter did, but his right to be unbothered by the rest of us for something that's none of our business." Carlson also specifically targeted the media for hyping the Vitter story:

CARLSON: It's not really the Democrats who are doing it; it's the press. It's us. It's the media. After humiliating David Vitter, putting his wife's picture on television, as many of us have, which is almost indefensible in my opinion, because she did not do anything -- the guy has four kids. We have helped destroy his life. We publicized this thing he did.

As for the criminal aspect of what Vitter is alleged to have done, Carlson dismissed it as not that significant: "It's against the law in the sense that double-parking is against the law. Let's be real here."

"I guess this means Menendez no longer thinks the story is part of a racist plot against him, as he initially suggested," Carlson said in the email.

Actually, Cuban intel probably floated the story to people the knew would be reliable racists. and hacks.

When reached by TPM on Tuesday, Johnson wouldn't elaborate on "the goods" that he supposedly has on Menendez.
"I'm waiting for as many people to make fools of themselves first before I release the smoking guns. I encourage you to join them...but, of course, at your own risk," Johnson wrote in an email

Translation: I've got nothing and it would be great if my weak threats kept you from asking about all of this.

Cuban intelligence is smarter than Tucker Carlson. Surprising no one.

Nobody forced Vitter's wife to be on television during the Clinton scandal talking about how if her husband ever cheater on her, she'd lorena bobbit him. She could have not said anything but decided to gloat about how she's a better wife and has more self-respect than Hillary and look how that turned out. I say fark her.

I know you can read - question is, did you?  Those trying to burn FOX, MSNBC, and CNN to the ground here are the ones showing a lack of credibility.

The telling thing about the story is that as soon as somebody outside of Carlson's group did 10 minutes of investigating on it it folded like a $2 lawn chair. So you can't tell me that Carlson didn't check it out and found it was bullshiat, but just decided to run with it anyway because he knew the accusation alone would do unrepairable damage. Either that or he has absolutely 0 journalistic integrity and failed to follow through with rule 1 of journalism, verify your sources.

What a waste of words, you can sum up every story about Tucker Carlson with just his name, his picture and end it with a pair of clown shoes.

well the one takeaway I had from that article is that this Charles Johnson fellow seems to be an asshole of epic proportions.

What is it about conservative "journalism" that attracts these shiathammers in such large numbers?

He is exactly the kind of asshat that would fall for that kind of misinformation. There's nothing he could do to salvage his credibility after the Crossfire incident.

2014-07-09 01:22:37 PM
I remember a few of our right wing troll accounts were still endlessly defending these accusations against Menendez no matter how many times they were debunked.

So right wingers, how does it feel to be tools of a communist country?  How can you hate America so much you would do the work of the commies?

Wonder if there's ever days Tucker Carlson wakes up, looks into a mirror and thinks:

"Damn, I'm a societal leech.  I'm a bottom feeder.  I exist solely because hate and fear are the easiest paths for angry, ignorant people."

No see, I don't care about this media personality or that one.  I don't care about the pseudo political squabbles.  I don't care about bowties, specific mistakes, or who exactly made up what.

I care about a disaster of a format linked too closely with interest in ratings.

Interesting comment to make on a story that is about traditional media outlets turning down a sensationalized story because it lacked credibility.

There is a lot of money available for reliable hacks spouting rightwing stuff.
