BravadoGT: Great!  If there's one thing people are clamoring for, it's ANOTHER craft brewery....

Depends on where you live. In my town? Zero craft breweries. Where they live? One craft brewery.

CMYK and PMS: "Crappy Beer!, all we have to do is give it a cool name that makes no sense and a neat label and all the hipsters will come."

You really do not know what the fark you're talking about. Hipsters like to drink crap macro brews that were popular in the 70's. Beer geeks / beer snobs like to drink craft beers.

A hipster is anyone who tries to put importance to his knowledge of mundane subjects.

Being a beer snob myself, I can tell you, my favorite watering holes are becoming infested with horn rimmed neckbeards in stained vintage t-shirts with jeans and sandals...

Places that used to play some decent music, but now feature college radio tunes...

At least the beer is good and the back room doesn't have piped music... Just gotta leave when they set up a mic for "poetry jam" nights and head next door to the whiskey bar and drink some bourbon instead...

No... by definition that is a geek...

A hipster is a cultural trend that puts emphasis on fashion and attitude.

Here's how I see it:
The hipsters basically came about because "geek" was becoming the new chic. A few years ago when this started showing up, real geeks couldn't afford, or didn't care to buy, the latest from Tommy Hilfiger, A&F, or American Eagle but they would go out of their way to find a shirt that signified their interests (comic books, math, star trek, star wars, lotr, etc.). Geeks also tend to be a bit nerdy, in fact, nerds and geeks can overlap quite a bit. Then one day, the fasionistas figured out that those kids graduated college with high paying jobs that had stability: science, math, engineering, technology... And slowly it caught on to them that these kids had no REAL fashion sense, but shallow women like the idea of being with a man who's job is high paying and secure. Before long, Geek and Nerdy became synonymous with "good job prospects", and those guys and gals that wanted to cash in on that started mimicking the geek/nerd look. But to fool the shallow women who's eyes glaze over when anything except money and credit are being passionately talked about, the guys had to find something to sound geeky about besides sportsball all the time. They found out quickly that in the presence of real geek/nerds their wiki-searches on whatever geeks were into would be smacked down in front of the ladies, so they had to start looking for the obscure stuff... Sure, a real geek/nerd could wax intellectually about the warp drive Vs. hyperdrive technology til the sun came up, but they won't know shiat about these old ass typewriters, because why the fark would they? It's not a computer... Can't let the chick's think you are an over the top sportsball fanatic that hangs out in sports bars and drinks the cheapest beer they can find like those non-geeky jock heads... So go to a non-sports bar, order the cheapest beers, then if asked why, claim irony...

Craft beers are just the next area of geek/nerd that they can wrap their brains around because math is hard...

You just described a geek.

Hipsters try to take old but iconic items and try to make them trendy again. And as soon as they succeed, they shun said items and move on to something else.

Geeks collect encyclopedic knowledge about something and desire people to ask them about said thing so they can show off their knowledge.

Nerds have poor social skills and generally like things that lean towards the creative/intellectual as opposed to activities that require physical aptitude.

THIS^^^^

These little AWs are top-shelf stupid and so are her parents. Unfortunately, some people still have to actually share a craft brewery, so there is that.
