Only 60%? So they are improving?

2014-07-08 03:44:42 PM
82% if you include half true. That's just ridiculous.

2014-07-08 03:46:31 PM
Strange that "half truths" are nearly the same across the board.

2014-07-08 03:51:35 PM
I think CNN gets high marks for "true" because it never really says anything.

When you only report on two things (missing airplanes / missing young hot white women) you really don't have a lot of things to screw up.

Sixty percent come straight from Bullshiat Mountain. The other forty percent go through Fantasyland along their way from Bullshiat Mountain.

You'd think so, but they haven't figured out how to calculate for the "Blitzer Factor," which will probably have to wait until the advent of quantum computing.

"The summaries come with a note of caution from PunditFact, in that the outlet uses its "news judgment to pick the facts we're going to check, so we certainly don't fact-check everything."

So this whole study is return to bullshiat mountain.

It certainly doesn't hurt that they don't bring on pundits which would count against them anymore in favor of using random stuff from twitter.

"Criticle," eh?

You probably criticize him for the use of executive orders and such while conveniently ignoring the fact that you weren't outraged at all when the last guy did it more. But you're totally independent.

hey man, viewers asked CNN to fact check the speeches during the presidential elections and they made sure they had facts.  It's just they forgot the "check" part of "fact checking" so all their facts were, "FACT: This candidate just said this"

Actually, since Pundifact is a spinoff of Politifact which is known for their inane attempts at balancing lies from both sides, then if anything they're understating the level of FOX news mendacity.

Even if that were true, isn't Fox's viewership more than all those combined? Shouldn't a news network with those numbers not be lying to its viewers? Is this the Republican idea of responsibility?

By the way, what color is the sky in your world?

In fairness that's an analysis of how misinformed the viewers end up being, this is an analysis of the misinformation itself. Closely linked to be sure.

So PunditFact reports half-truths, and points a finger at Fox News.

Is it OK to ignore both of them. Because that's what I'm going to do.

2014-07-08 05:01:13 PM
It's because of all those made-up controversies.

Also, no one cares that Fox was only 15% less truthful than MSNBC?

2014-07-08 05:02:30 PM
I was at a Burger King yesterday and they had Fox News on the TV on the wall in the dining area and I was subjected to about 20 minutes of how Obamacare is bad and how Bill O'Reilly had a promo saying "Is Obama the Worst Executive since WWII?" (considering they overlooked Nixon was insane) Anyway, after this they segued into a commercial telling homeowners that they could take advantage of a Government Assistance program to refinance their homes. So, just to keep score, Government in my health care = No Way... Government helping me take out more loans on my home so I can buy a boat = Yes, please.

There isn't even a liberal party in this country, considering the democrats are middle/right.  Good try though!

Maddow has been wrong a few times but she at least corrects herself. The rest of the MSNBC lineup is pretty poor. Ed Schultz sounds like he's trying to be a heartland ORLY, Al Sharpton still acts like it's the first time he's been in front of a camera and has 0 credibility, the daily programs are all over the place. Too bad Olbermann is gone. That man could rant.

What mess would that be? Unemployment is low, economy is improving, stock market is up, people are getting healthcare for the first time, and we are winding down a war.

Unless him being black is somehow a mess.
