Just rewatched Gamera 3: Revenge of Iris yesterday.

If you haven't seen it, and you like kaiju films, watch it.  Easily one of the top 5 giant monster movies.

And of course, nobody should dare to concern themselves over the potential nuclear disaster that can potentially happen every time a typhoon sweeps up the Japanese coast lest they want to hear about it from the pro-nuke crowd.

FACT: Nuclear power plants have harmed less people than voodoo dolls.

To be fair, the giant monsters are more of a threat to the reactors than the winds and debris. They need irradiated water for sustenance.

It is like a bad plot line though. I can see them sitting in the movie theatre now: "Oh come on! How unrealistic can a movie be. Why would you store tons of nuclear waste for decades on end right next to the ocean?!?! That's just asking for giant monster attacks"

Well, according to your profile you're in Oshkosh, so you don't have a H-mart near you.

If you want a weird day, go to a large asian grocery store. Like stepping through a rift in space.

By the time period in which most of the movie was set there were only 4 left in the world....Japan lacked any for the same reason Russia, China, and the United States could only muster 1 each (and the US Jaeger was an old refurb)....almost the entire Jaeger fleet was wasted by then.

Plus I have it on good authority the Japanese Jaegers were outmatched and destroyed once the Kaiju evolved to counter the Used Panty Gun with which they were all equipped.

Because Japan has better things to do.

14 episodes over 5 years. Still a better watch than Pacific Rim.
