I like the one where the new Doctor's all shouty and his companion's all like "Wha-a-a-at??" and then the TARDIS is all like "fark it, I'm takin' y'all HERE!" and then there's like weird shiat and stuff, then the Doctor gets all "Omma fix this shiat!" and then they go somewhere else at the end.

/Spoilers are only spoilers if there is utterly irrelevant acting, cinematography and effects. To know what is going to happen is no impediment to enjoying a good show. Ref: Shakespeare.

I'm as big a "Doctor Who" fan as you're likely to find, and I don't mind having plots spoiled for me in general. It doesn't hurt my enjoyment.

But there's practically no point to reading a leaked "Who" script when we haven't even seen what Capaldi will do with the character. If you can't picture his manner in your head while reading, it's pointless. Plus, the time it would take to read a leaked script is hardly worth it, when you have to imagine all the visuals.

Now, reading a script after something has aired might be interesting - seeing what was tweaked or left out, and being able to picture the rest in your head.

But this? This just seems pointless to me.

/and then there are the clowns who will insist this is a publicity stunt

peasandcarrots: Might be revenge. In the 1990s, no one in the world hated the show more than the fans. Every attempt to revive it was met with foaming, teeth-gnashing, fist-pounding rage, whether it was the Leekly Bible, Daltenreys, or the 1996 movie. Once the Internet came along, Doctor Who couldn't print a poster without receiving hate mail from their "biggest" fans.

Yeah, I find it kind of annoying when fans get a little too attached to their idea of what Doctor Who should be, and don't realize that the whole point of the show, and its greatest strength, is the ability to completely reimagine itself when a new Doctor and/or creative team comes onboard. The show just should never, ever be treated as serious business, because it removes a lot of the charm.

/That said, some of the ideas Fox had for their version in 1996 would have really made a mess that I'm not sure anyone could properly retcon away, so it is probably better it was stillborn with the TV movie.

And I can't wait for Clara's nude scenes.

if they start adding nude scenes, I won't mind if they bring back Rose.

Clara > Rose.

River > Everyone else.

Matt Smith and Jenna-Louise Coleman have technically already had several nude scenes, if any of you Farkers watched the latest Christmas special. :p

TV's Vinnie: In May 2011, Moffat criticised those "who call themselves fans" who revealed crucial plot lines ahead of transmission."You can imagine how much I hate them," he told BBC Radio 5 live. "I wish they could go and be fans of something else."

Just WTF is it with recent Dr Who producers and their seething, almost homicidal hatred of their own farking fan base? "I wish you all neckbeards and fatties would each get cancer of the nutsack and die alone & screaming in a puddle of your own pus while nurses would rifle through your wallet! Now make sure to watch the season debut of our program and buy our merchandising!"

bzzzzzt! Wrong. Martha>River>Rose>Amy>Donna as far as hotness with the new companions goes.

Don't make me shove a Janis thorn up your asses, kids.

Hey, at least I qualified it with "new companions" I also realized I forgot Clara in my list for some reason.

Martha>River=Clara>Rose> Amy> Donna.

And sorry, Peri Beats out Leela IMO, although the thought that she could kick my ass is kinda hot...

Well, we've only seen Rose, River, Clara, and Amy naked...so I'll hold out a till I have more evidence.

Wait what?

How is Moffat being any different from the non-book reading GoT fans who shat bricks over any book speak in those threads? He's saying that some of his fans are assholes, and thus he doesn't consider them real fans because they're more interested in ruining enjoyment of the show for others, which is a valid criticism.

Let the Moffat hate spiral begin!

Maybe the script leak is a reaction to Moffat being a colossal narcissist with the charm and sophistication of a used colostomy bag.

They need to bring back the script editor that chainsawed through his writing for the episodes he wrote for Tennant, since she seemed very capable of ripping out all his bullshiat and turning it into good TV.

perigee: phaseolus: Interesting. It looks like they're in the process of setting up U.S. theatrical simulcasts of the premiere, but the link doesn't appear to have any definite showtimes and locations quite yet.

Faaaaaaaaaahhhhccck... A damned cashgrab.
... that I gotta look into...
Thanks, phaseolus.

It's fun. I drove the whole family (well ... not counting my ex-wife) 50 miles to see The Day of The Doctor's simulcast, and I think seeing it in a theater with a few hundred fans added to the experience.
