The only thing poor people hate more than rich people is other poor people.

This is my shocked expression.

It looks a lot like my "gee, ya think?!?" expression, but that's a coincidence, truly.

They aren't "Poor" they're simply temporarily displaced millionaires.

The teabaggers have been useful idiots for the wealthy conservatives since day one.  The Koch Brothers, Sheldon Adelson, Art Pope, etc, likely don't really give a damn about gay marriage, abortion, racial issues one way or the other, but they know that the angry uneducated rural masses do.  They get them riled up under the guise of a culture war with the understanding that whatever rubes they throw into office will vote the way the moneyed interests want when it comes to economic issues.

It's almost bitten them in the ass a few times, the shutdown and debt ceiling crisis last year being one of the biggest, when the useful idiots trended more into idiot territory than useful and almost brought the whole economy crashing down, but by and large it's been successful for billionaires pulling the string.  Give Joe Bob money and tell him he can go and fight the queers, whores, and Muslims and he'll be happier than a pig in shiat.  He doesn't understand the economic issues beyond what Fox News tells him to believe, so he'll happily sell out his own interests without ever knowing it, thinking it's all part of the same war against the evil liberals.

So, it's working exactly as planned?

It's the same old DERP, just packaged in a shiny new form, and given a new coat of paint, and patted on the head for being so gosh darned patriotic...

Hang on...you're telling me that a party that was astroturfed by the wealthy is doing their masters' bidding?

What's the over/under for when these poor dumb schlubs figure out that the GOP is screwing them?

bronyaur1: What's the over/under for when these poor dumb schlubs figure out that the GOP is screwing them?

The Libs have been telling them this since day one. They are never going to figure it out.

So they're just like Demublicans.

2014-07-06 09:29:20 PM
My tea party family doesn't care so long as they feel like they're sticking it to the libs and big government. I've pointed out numerous times they are solely hurting themselves and that's their response everyone time.

It'll probably be the same time that the Democrats figure out that Obama's $800 billion "stimulus" went right into the pockets of the 1%.

Yeah, Obama and his time machine, forging Bush's signature  on the stimulus package in 2008. Probably at the same time he signed off on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Ah, actually that was Bush's $200 billion or so stimulus. He was presumably talking about the 2009 stimulus. As for the 1% claim,

They won't. Right wing media has done a very good job on a daily basis convincing them that the only reason they are not captains of industry is because of "those people," whoever "those people" may be.

And truth is that eventually all money ends up in the pockets of the 1%. It's just nice if the government gets it to recirculate a few times among the proletariat first.

The right has always been an uneasy alliance of radical fundamentalist Christians and money men. The Tea Party allied those faux-Christian morons with the pseudo libertarian tax protester types and the entire movement has been bankrolled by the money men from the get-go. They have been whipped into a frenzy by an increasingly propaganda-fueled RW media echo chamber without ever stopping to realize how badly they have been played. Voting against their own economic self interests and individual liberty over and over again just to "Stick it to the libs" or "because Jesus". I used to think that at some point they might wise up a little and figure some of this out for themselves. I am no longer holding my breath on that one.

Yes because Salon is most definitely an unbiased place for political commentary and the Tea Party is definitely a majority in politics.

First off they're a minority in the GOP, secondly Salon is utterly ridiculous.

Wake the fark up people, the money in politics and the 2-party system has led to the income inequality issue.  Keep pretending that YOUR party really cares...  You want to fix the system?  Get the money out of politics.

Republitards, Demoncrats, it doesn't matter who you are talking about, terms like these are a sure indicator that you have nothing of value to say.

I give a pass for "Teabagger" because they choose that one themselves.

...yes, that's usually how creating jobs works. It's only in the last decade or so that the rich have circled back to the turn of last century notion that workers are chattel to be exploited and not people.

Oddly, I already had you labled as "fark indy."

A better way to phrase it is republicans don't want handouts from the government (unless absolutely necessary), even if the government intends to take from the rich to provide those handouts.  Additionally, Republicans would never stoop to letting half of South America take up residence in the U.S., effectively turning America into one big ghetto barrio, just to gain a little political power.  The democrats seem perfectly willing to do just that.  When thinking of the current crop of democrats, I think of what Varys said about Littlefinger in Game of Thrones.

"he would see this country burn if he could be king of the ashes"

The unfortunate part is that they will never understand this fact.  Try having a rational conversation with these people.  I always enjoy personally thanking them for speeding the decline of western civilization.

Say what you will about the anti-Semitic stuff, but at least Henry Ford thought that the people who built his cars should be able to afford to own one.
