So lets spend 10s of millions of dollars in a futile effort that could take 10 years to resolve and nothing come out of it, other than reinforcing your base with the fact that you don't like the black guy in the White House. Not to mention executive orders have been a favorite of past gop presidents and a decision could screw any future ones as well.

If you, Orange Douche, never found it fitting to bring suit against George Dubya for his extensive signing statements and various other assholery with Executive Orders; especially EO 13292 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Executive_Order_13292

Well, you can just slink back to the bar and get hammered again.

When the sitting president sees fit to give his Vice President the same classification and declassification powers as POTUS and you don't really give a sh*t, I really don't want to listen to your lame ass arguments about the black guy.

Stop for a moment and consider the Rich Bastards paying Boehner to front this zhit. WTF? How can they be so far disconnected from reality?

Well, if the teabaggers and gop can't find anything impeachable they will have to sue, it's the only way 'murica can survive.

/Will this mean we can sue the gop for not doing their congressionally appointed duties? Or can they just be arrested for violating the Constitution?

They already had more money than Gods and the past 5 years of the market has made them all super richer. These people have so much money to throw around, it's scary. If I simply take a stroll down Bellevue, here in town, I can just think back to the last time this happened. They made government irrelevant by buying their way out of everything. After a while, people got pissed off and imposed income tax and property taxes, took them a long time to recover from that.

Now, after decades of trickle-down economics and the fattening of their purses, they are back with a vengeance to kill anyone sub $1,000,000 in net asset value.

If he can get it in front of the Roberts Court he has a pretty good shot at getting Obama's entire presidency annulled with this suit.  He just has to figure out what he is suing for first, but that is a minor detail in the grand scheme of things.

If the President has failed to uphold his duties, the House of Representatives has a Constitutional method to take care of the problem.

The fact that Boehner and his lickspittle cronies are trying to file a lawsuit says only that they're not serious about governance or the Constitution.

Over the last five years, starting -- not coincidentally -- when his political party lost the majority in the House of Representatives, the President has consistently overstepped his authority under the Constitution, and in so doing eroded the power of the legislative branch

John,

If it takes you 5+ years to file suit, you just might be criminally retarded.

2014-07-06 12:20:16 PM
If he's so sure why is he using tax dollars to file the suit? Isn't he a big "tort reform" guy?

If this is such a slam dunk he should not only pay his legal fees personally but also offer to pay ALL costs for both sides if he loses.

I kind of like the idea of randomly walking out of a movie theater in 2017 or so and seeing John Boehner wearing a paper hat rushing in to earn his minimum wage sucking the farts out of the seats.

FTFA "After years of slow economic growth and high unemployment under President Obama, they are still asking, 'where are the jobs?' The House has passed more than 40 jobs bills that would help. But Washington Democrats, led by the President, just ignore them."

I don't have the chart, but unemployment keeps going down since Bush's disastrous 2008. Good we ignored your 40 bills and your 53 calls to overturn Nationalized Romneycare.

So, wait. He's not actually filing a lawsuit, he's introducing a Bill in the House to authorize Congress to file a lawsuit? Does that mean the House bill would then go to the Senate? And if it passes the Senate then go to the President for his signature? So they think Obama is going to sign a bill authorizing Congress to sue him? Am I missing a step here?

This whole lawsuit thing is so clearly a stunt Hal Needham would've driven a car through it.

This lawsuit threat is 100% conservative base pandering. The merits and details don't matter at all to them.

If you understand it for what it is it makes perfect sense. This isn't meant to actually be any kind of threat to Obama, this is all Boehnor trying to tell "conservative" voters, "Oh I sure do hate this Kenyan socialist. I'm not a RINO. Keep voting for me!" Boehnor knows the suit is worthless and he couldn't care less. Its success or failure in the court doesn't matter, the gesture is what matters.

So is this revenge for all the crap the Dems threw at Bush II, which was in revenge for all the crap the GOP threw at Clinton, which in turn was for all the crap thrown at Bush I and Reagan, and so on and so on up to and probably including Van Buren and Henry Harrison but which got worse after Watergate when the parties realized that they could just cry "impeachment" if they don't get their way?

This is too dumb for this to even BE a conspiracy anymore.

Rebolding for clarification. He is alleging that the president is overstepping his own authority, and is undercutting the legislative branch. He is not saying that the president is both overstepping his own authority and eroding his own power.

"Now or never" he says. Now or never. Hmm. Good luck with that. Just keep prodding at your insane base with your lies, clearly that will magically create jobs or pass more bills from the Most Useless Congress Ever, right? Or will it baselessly prove, as always, that you've got nothing and that your projection is as strong as ever.

Die. All of you rich, stupid Republican farks just die. Either that, or go find another country that you can purchase and ruin. I'm sure Africa has a few you can take. Or you can join your Russian friends in failing to reunite the USSR, doesn't matter to me.

Also, I wonder how many of those bills have the words "Keystone" in them?

Although I don't think this will go anywhere, is a waste of time, and is being done for purely partisan reasons, the executive branch actually has become far more powerful since its inception and it would be a good thing to shift some of that power back to the legislature.

Right. The legislature can't hold any votes besides tax cuts and Obamacare repeal because Obongo is undercutting their power. That's why they haven't passed any meaningful legislation in years.

Is there no limit to his lawless feckless tyrannical incompetence?

Not this legislature. Especially because they've demonstrated that they have no intent to actually exercise the authority they do have. And they sure as hell weren't biatching when Bush used far more executive orders and unilateral executive actions than Obama ever has.

No, this is all hypocritical bullshiat from a nest of shiatstained filthweasels.

That's weird. That weepy oompa-loompa wrote, "After years of slow economic growth and high unemployment," but unemployment is now the lowest it's been since September 2008, and the Dow just hit a record high last weekend. Huh. I wonder if there's some other reason Republicans don't like the president--some dark force other than jobs or the economy coloring their judgement. It's like they've blacked out what's been going on recently. With an economy like that, you'd think they'd be thanking the president; be down on one knee. Grow a pair, Boner.

Really? You have the nerve to ask that when it's your party to blame?
