I figured it was a reference to High Hopes (kinda like "Division Bell"), but yeah, they will make arseloads of cash with this.

So it's basically scrapings from the bottom of the Division Bell sessions. I'M SO STOKED!!!

This is great news. Much more was added to it - not scrapings at all.

Original title was to be "The Big Spliff".

I'm not saying I'll buy it, but I'll be checking it out.

I think Pink Floyd sucks but I do thank them for teaching me that even though my guitar playing is completely inept, that with enough pedals I too can be a rock god.

Pink Floyd has basically been David Gilmour's solo project for the last 30 years, however I will buy this album because it will probably be the last of Richard Wright's music.

bah...I know what you're talking about; minimal playing/bending the notes with that chorus/distortion Rockman sound...

But, you know what, it sounds awesome.
Doesn't matter how many notes or how easy to play it.

I thought so as well. And I'm in the "kinda liked Division Bell" camp as well. High Hopes is a great song, and a few other ones on there are pretty good.

Zappa said it best:
We could jam at Joe's garage
His mama was screamin'
His dad was mad
We was playin' the same old song
In the afternoon 'n sometimes we would
Play it all night long
It was all we knew, 'n easy too
So we wouldn't get it wrong
All we did was bend the string like . . .

I do like Syd Barrett though.  He wrote the best children's music.

His later stuff should be boxed up and sold as "If The Wiggles Were Groovy."

I'd really like your opinion on something, then. I thought High Hopes was great, but Nightwish did a cover that, I think (blasphemous as it may be), blows the original out of the water, especially as far as the guitar solo: Audio only, ignore video.

I digitally download full albums all the time, from every band I like. It's very rare for me to buy a single; usually means the rest of the album sucks.

We must listen to very different genres, as I can't think of an artist that doesn't release their work on disc.   Even the local unsigned acts do so.

I remember when the did this -- almost 20 years ago -- with Pulse!

Til I f*cked his PB's gf in the common room on floor [REDACTED] at [REDACTED] Hall before x-mas break 1995.

Most of Pink Floyd's audience is older (35-65) and wealthy, so they not only buy CDs, they buy the wildly over-priced (yet beautiful) box sets PF has been putting out for the last 20 years.

/Me, I listen to them on Spotify; haven't touched my CDs in years.

Can you please shut up and take my money? I will even give it to Waters if I can get a list of tour dates.

I just told my wife that if either tour, we are going and there is no talking about it. My first concert was Pink Floyd in 88 and yeah I want to do it again.

Waters just finished touring last year. He's actually been on tour for something like 7 of the last 8 years. Dark Side and then The Wall.

And according to someone at The Sun, no tour for this album.

I like the original better.  The Nightwish music is great, but the singer's delivery is heavy handed, a bit too over the top for my taste.

For every absolutely amazing song Floyd has recorded,  they recorded 3-4 absolutely unlistenable ones.   Considering this album is the stuff that didn't make the cut for the division bell,   I don't have very high hopes.

Intonation, phrasing, medley, or just plain having the ear to pick up on that sound 40 years ago pales in comparison to being able to play a #D9sus8 in 5/16 time with a mixolydian run over it, amirite?

Yeah, this is very not PF in terms of announcement.  Perhaps there was resistance to calling this a PF album and one of the Gilmours decided to force the issue.

/Also remember that this is the woman whose idiot son (from a previous relationship, though David has adopted him) got arrested trying to climb the Cenotaph in London a couple years ago.
