Ah, here we are. Heck of a shunt for Kimi, barrier will have to be replaced. Wonder if this will become a timed affair.

2014-07-06 08:17:27 AM
Guardrail repair will take at least 15 minutes.

2014-07-06 08:17:47 AM
Do they still have the 2 hour limit?

2014-07-06 08:20:45 AM
I dunno. Also, wtf is this rule change for next year?

Safety Car restarts
Safety Car restarts will now be a standing start from the grid. Standing starts will not be carried out if the Safety Car is used within two laps of the start (or restart) of a race or if there are less than five laps of the race remaining.

Also, how many positions did Vettel lose in those 2 laps?

Looked like at least 2, possibly 3. HAM absolutely ate him up.

I was reading some rumors of several drivers changing teams, including Vettel, Hamilton, Button. I know the rumors is Vettel to Ferrari so far, don't know much about the others.

Very good chance that Kimi won't take his 2nd year.  He's getting fed up, that's obvious.

Welp. Have there been any crashes in the TdF yet today?

Who is their grid walker?  He was effectively delivering the port-a-potty report there for a minute.

Well, Kimi, sadly, has been shiat this year.

You mentioned tire degradation in the other thread.  Did you hear how many teams are on a one-stop strategy today?

I saw that. It really is amazing.

I am just glad this may increase the likelihood of weather being a factor.  When they have to manage when to come in for rain tires, and when to go back to slicks, it makes things so much more interesting.

I think the service cars have done more laps around the circuit so far. They havent been able to do any progress on that rail guard.

As far as I'm aware, they do.

I'm not sure. TSN doesn't carry a pre-race show. They join BBC 5 minutes before the top of the hour to show an aerial shot of the track, a graphic with DRS zones, and the pace lap.

Ha!

That reminds me, I think I could pick up the latest F1 game for, like $20 right now.

Confirmed by Chin.  There's also rain in the forecast.  Shame the GP tracks don't have a Montoya Moving Target.

Chilton under investigation.  That reg is a hard nope.

They're finally making a progress on the guard rail!

2014-07-06 08:35:34 AM
Is it British law that only JCB equipment can be used in that country?

Which is a little silly, because there are some repairs you can't make on the grid. If anything, there should be a "you start from pit lane" addendum.

By the way, I have to give props to my cable company for having this streaming service which lets me watch it on my laptop without getting out of bed.

2014-07-06 08:38:11 AM
So David Coulthard just said that Nico has asked to borrow his car for his wedding this week.

Don't give Bernie any more money. I feel dirty enough for watching this on tv instead of streaming it illegally.

Might be better off finding another stream without commercials.  I prefer the Eurostreams over NBCSN's stream

The safety car is an E63 AMG Wagon!  Can we get some beagles in the boot of that thing?

Well driving down the lane with all hands on the lane is a silly idea, especially at pit lane speeds.

I sometimes watch the BBC stream, but I prefer the clarity and stability of the HD stream, and I actually rather enjoy their commentary .

LOL.  For once, it's morally better to buy it used from Gamestop and reward their upscale pawn shop model.

If they don't fix this damn guardrail soon, Nico is going to win the shortest British GP ever.

FTFBritain. Is it being chauffered, with a guy dressed in fox hunting kit in the back?

Agreed. It's $20 used!

It's a whole franchise now. They had that Planes movie, and now there's like a mashup sequel.

I know too many people with kids.

And here I was worried I overslept.  Might as well get a S, s and s and make some breakfast.

Since it's a suspended race, do they restart at their old positions or do they freeze the field?

2014-07-06 08:52:25 AM
Massa must have the reactions of a freakin' jedi to have turned sideways like that!
That prang could have been a whole lot worse if he'd hit head on.

So JPM has the pole at Pocono.  Are they getting a red flag to start too?

cameroncrazy1984: Since it's a suspended race, do they restart at their old positions or do they freeze the field?

They restart based upon the last timing loop before the caution/red flag.  So Lewis Hamilton restarts 4th.

2014-07-06 08:53:59 AM
Restart at 5 past the hour.

2014-07-06 08:54:39 AM

good_2_go: Restart at 5 past the hour.

/35 past in Newfoundland
