I heard that llama is suing for sexual harassment now, the whipping became just a bit awkward.

Isn't this like ching-chonging the Dalai Lama. Geesh...you make me tired Drew. You really do.

The DL has to be the funnest religious leader. He's always on the verge of laughter and he always gets whoever he's photographed with out of their stiff formal poses.

I totally read that in the Vortigaunts' voice.

I also share a birthday with The Big D, as he likes to be called.

This year I'm gifting him with total consciousness and maybe he can get me on the Cheese of the Month Club?

Wonder if he's going to be the last Dalai Lama or name a successor before he dies. Either way, China will no doubt come up with their own Dalai Lama that will be loyal to them.

I think Chinese already have 2. Once they mate them, they'll be unstoppable

Happy birthday, ya grumpy old fart.

========================================================

Above was a joke, of course.

This I say this in all seriousness: His Holiness The Dalai Lama is WAY better than Jesus.

Don't believe me?

Sit down sometime and read the gospels.

Then read through The Art of Happiness.

Really, there's just no comparison.

===============================

Don't buy into that whole reincarnation thing?  The DL is cool with that.

Think the DL is anti woman or anti gay or something else bad?  Nah, that's probably just Chinese propaganda telling you that.

The DL is only anti-suffering.

His varying in an airplane routine is pretty good. And his best friend is (was?) a priest, and he's not trying to convert people to his religion. There a place for all religions. Petty awesome guy, I saw him a couple years ago, great talk.

Thought to be honest, a lot of Chinese are down with the DL, just on the DL

It surprises me that a god would endorse Marxism.

China kidnapped the Panchin (sp?) Llama years ago when he was about 5. The PL identifies the next DL so pretty interesting what may happen.

The Art of Happiness would have been better if that other guy hadent included so much other stuff about himself. I get that it was the context that illicited all the great DL quotes but those little gems are like 1/20 th of the book.

Good catch! That's got to be my favorite solo album of his. I had a cassette of it for years and eventually tracked down a CD with both High Priest and Black List on it. Lots of great stuff.

???

I don't remember the DL calling for a violent world-spanning communist revolution.

I also don't remember the DL saying he was any more divine than anybody else.  Yes, he may be just a bit more "in tune" with reality than the average person, but that is only because of the effort he has made training his mind using practices that are doable by anybody.

Or are you referring to somebody else?
