Haha, I have not yet done that. I am going back to Ohio to retrieve my collection of books from my ex. Looong story. When I left him I only managed to take a few of my books with me, but I do have my Atlas, which does detail the architecture. I was actually thinking about scanning the Inn of the Last Home and finding some way to email the guy who does the bonsai trees. Probably think I am some weirdo, though.

On another note, I get my big canvas giclee of Lord Soth's Death Charge back! Booya!

What a "banzai" tree might look like.

Just don't get stuck here. Back in Ohio for less than a year and it's already trying to tie me down.

/ no, Ohio, not yours; I'm outta here early next year.

I'm only there for two weeks. I fly in Weds morning and start the drive back next Monday. Closing the door on a very painful chapter of my life (unintentional pun there), welcoming my niece into the world, seeing my mother for the first time in three years, you know, that sort of thing. I lived there for most of my life and I miss a lot of it, but short of family I really have no reason to go back after this visit. And family isn't really a good reason for me because we're not very close; maybe I should say that they treat me like the black sheep...

Anywho, I envy you moving to Japan! I want to visit there someday and geek out as an otaku. Nothing like a mid-30s American gal acting her age in a foreign country! Gotta take pictures with Gundam Zero, go to all of the stores, see the gardens and palaces...

Those beautifully intricate and delicate-looking sculptures surrounding a living Bonsai would make it very difficult to give the tree the proper care needed to keep it Bonsai.

/ a purist would say these aren't true Bonsai because true Bonsai demands "freedom from ornamentation."
// that means no ceramic Buddhas or tiny pagodas.
/// Who am I kidding? everyone does it.

My great uncle raised bonsai trees and sold them for a living. His personal collection was amazing.
