I was in Boca Raton  a couple of weeks back. The one thing I noticed is if you drive south to Deerfield Beach, gas prices drop 25 cents a gallon.

Hey Smits, there's a reason that Yankee and Yeti are almost interchangeable word.

That's true. But it's a function of county gas taxes being less in Broward county than in Palm Beach county. And while there 'could' be a 25-cent difference, it's typically more in the 10/15-cents range (depending which station you go to and, indeed, some stations really gouge you). A big difference, of course, but then again if you want to risk your neck in the slum that is Broward county to save a couple of bucks then be my guest.

For reasons I don't understand, Boca Raton is home to a large number of scam artists and con-men.

This "hair growth machine" sounds like high tech snake oil to me.

Rat's Mouth is well known as the crooked stock broker capital of at least florida, if not the country.

iGrow, which is designed as a helmet with lasers, costs $659 but has a money-back guarantee at any time. HairMax LaserComb ranges from $295 to $545, depending on the number of lasers, and has a five-month, money-back guarantee.
The iGrow process takes four to six months of repeated use.
"Anyone who is aging should use it," said Jeff Braile, president of Apira. "It will make your existing hair look better."

Oh come one. Anyone believe this? I bet they're depending on everyone who is sucker enough to buy them to lose interest before the 6 months is up, and then they can claim that the person didn't use it regularly enough.

Or else you'll get brain cancer and forget everything in six months, after the surgery.

Hey, there, buddy! We used to be the home of most spam-sending outfits for a while. So, two for two!

GO U-S-A!

They supposedly can make your hair thicker, but not regrow any bald areas. I think it was on Dateline even

I' don't know why people are so hung-up on hair. Isn't it just a waste product that was developed to help keep the species warm? I thought that losing it in general is a sign we are moving further up the evolutionary chain.

Maybe I'm just jealous of those who are by genetics, and I shave my pate :)
