World's greatest sporting event marred by self-created crash.

I will not miss "Ouch, my ball" in the least.

Triplets of Belleville is a pretty decent film.

Damn. I thought Cavendish had a good shot this morning. Wish I could have watched. Lost power for a few hours.

I really can't get over that they saved the only TT for stage 20 this year.

Nice head butting.  Sad he's out. Go garmin

I thought his collarbone was broken, but if it is only dislocated and he is able to make it through the night without any contraband painkillers he might be back.  There was some racer a few years ago, Tyler Hamilton, but I might be wrong, broke his collarbone on the first stage of the TDF and finished.  The pain was so great that he gritted his teeth to get through it and ended up breaking 10 -14 of them.  But he did finish.  And then he ran into trouble again for his doping.

I saw that Jens made a hell of a break away. Crazy old fart.

I'm just glad he actually took responsibility for causing the crash.

Watched it. Sucks for Cav as this stage was his chance to shine in front of the home crowd. If he's out (which appears likely) I'd like to see Omega-Pharma switch gears and have Tony Martin contend for the GC.

Actually that was Cancellara. But it was indeed a ballsy move.

Like I said. Didn't have a working tv this morning. Saw Jens was out front for a bit that's all. Still a crazy old man.

When you shake your bike two feet each way on a sprinters stage, sometimes you go down. It is totally his own fault.

Cavendish caused the crash, he's even apologized. I just finished watching the stage and when I saw the crash it was obvious he caused it and I blurted out "asshole" when I saw it. Funny listening to NBC Sports commentators trying to blame him yet still keep their noses up his ass. Love that my man Jens made the long break.

did it to himself.  used to root for him to do well, seems to rub me the wrong way the past few years.  sagan is more fun to see win

Next year, we get the TT on the very first leg -- in the Netherlands.

So not much of a wait.

Actually, it was both. Jens early (for about 120 KM), then Spartacus late.

He's been pulling that kind of stunt for a long time. If he hadn't crashed along with the other guy he would have been out there defending that move.

I think I started to dislike him when Thor H went on a long breakaway and beat the crap out of himself to get all the sprint points in a race. Cavendish complained like that wasn't the way real sprinters get the jersey.

I suppose he's right, he always had other people do the work for him (look at his performance last year when he wasn't as well supported), of course hr would consider somebody busting their butt on their own the opposite of how things should be done.

Glad that he crashed, guy seems to get more and more douchier every year, don't want career ending injury, just a crash to knock him out of the running for stage wins.
Still upset that the TT is stage 20 and no TTT.

^This.

You want another reason to hate him? He's married to Peta Todd. Do a GIS with safe search off. Dayum.
