At least one of the lesbians I know does have a pickup. So I've got that going for me, which is nice.

Two of the lesbians I know have a 4 X 4 pick up and a Subaru, but live in Saskatchewan.

Hooray, I'm above average

I guess I am waaaayyyy above average then, but it's to be expected given my lack of straightnes. I hate stereotypes though, and yes, my wife has a pickup truck. I also know hundreds of gay and lesbian people.

I have at least that many gay relatives. Add to that, all my gay co-workers and friends... and we've got the makings for a Pride parade.

One of my mandatory three lesbian friends says they are called lesbarus. If this is for friends it's actually pretty close, but just for people I know it's way low. Hell, we have at least five people mid-sex change at work right now I'm pretty sure.

2014-07-05 08:08:34 PM
That's about right. Except I'm not sure on one of the gay guys.

He insists he's not gay, but he is a male stripper who is into his body and has just started culinary school.

It would be more helpful if they lived near me, or resembled their stereotypes.

Only 20 percent tops? How many of the other percent are power bottoms? Thank you, I'll be here all week, try the veal.

Above average as well due to working in Academia. I'd be curious to see what USA averages are and how it relates to gay marriage support. Typically, as people learn that LGBTQ indivduals are just normal Joes/Janes trying to live a wage (by having a friend come out/learning a co-worker is gay) instead of supervillains out to bring hurricanes to the US, marriage support increases.

CSB time.

My mother's sister was one of the coolest people I knew growing up. She had a computer (we didn't), she had a Sega Genesis (we had an NES), and she lived in a nice part of New Orleans which was really close to one of the good parade routes. She also drove a Ford Ranger pickup and lived with another woman. And they slept in the same bed.

Yeah, it didn't take a long time for me to put the pieces together after I learned what a "lesbian" was (I found that out when I was 11). My oldest brother figured it out pretty goddamned quickly too, but it wasn't until years later during a conversation with our mother that she finally got it. Yes, mother, your sister is a lesbian. We've known it for well over a decade. How could you not see that?

No word on how many dicks I sucked.

Teatards and Bible thumpers have the same number of LGBT relatives and acquaintances as the rest of us, so why are they so determined to keep them from having the same rights as anyone else?

Say what?  Oh, wait, right...thin-skinned, aren't we?

Here's a cute like argument that loathsome racists use, I'm sure you've heard it.  See, I'm not talking about all members of the Tea Party, or all Right-wing Fundamentalist Protestants, just the ones who are offensive and aggressive and racist. The rest of them are fine folk.

Just like you people say "When I use the word n*gger, I'm not referring to all black people, just the ones who won't work and have five children by six Baby Daddies, and wear their pants around their hips.  I love 'regular' black people, I have lots of black friends, and none of them ever complained about racism, so there!"

"teatards" tend to come around when you come out to them. (though there ARE exceptions) And remember, prop H8 never would have passed in deep blue california without a farkton of farktarded democrats voting for it.

I don't think she was necessarily naive or avoiding it. I just think she never thought that her own sister might be a muff-diver. Of course, she never thought I could be gay, so there's that.

FTA: In London, however, the average spikes to 12.1, with the average person knowing 8.5 gay men and 3.6 lesbians.
People from the Midlands and Wales know the least gay people, with an average of just 4.8 gay men and 2.7 lesbians

No, they know exactly the same number of gay people most likely, the only difference is in them being 'out' versus 'having a wide stance'

hmm   I think more statistical are people we know in Poly relationships, as in various people living together who are intermarried.   the man-man, lady-lady stuff came out in the open in Seattle 20 years ago.  group marriages really dance on the line of bigamy laws.

I live in Gulfport, FL, sort of the poor man's Key West.  I probably know 25 lesbians whose help I could enlist if I was moving or my plumbing needed fixing.  There are also a number of gay men around, but many of them get the wrong idea about me, so I'm not as good friends with them.

/The lesbian dog bar was insanely packed during Pride Week.
