Because destroying someone else's property is art.  Good riddance, asshole.

I have to agree with you.  The article makes him sound like a hero.
Not happy about a death, but c'mon!

Good riddance. Pity he couldn't have suffered for a few days in constant agonizing pain, but at least the trash is gone.

I'm surprised at that from the NY Post, too. They usually hate anything not law and order.

While he certainly didn't deserve to die for tagging random places, and I wish he was alright... it's... well, his fault. =/

What an electrifying story. I hope he wasn't too resistant to amping up the situation

Tagging's ridiculous. If you're going to go through the trouble of criminal trespass and vandalism, paint something beautiful, hilarious or thoughtful.

/and FFS stay of the tracks!

NYC subways operate on 600v DC, so I'm just going to assume you are one of Edison's goons out to slander Tesla.  Won't you people ever give up?!

2014-07-05 12:14:46 PM
If not for this, he could have been tagging well into his 70's.

2014-07-05 12:15:36 PM
Listen, this is not a joking matter. It was NOT just another Faraday for this poor man . He just couldn't take the voltage of the situation.

Now, someone is going to have a tasteful piano decoration.

"Underground graffiti legend Jason Wulf, 42..."

42 and he's still acting like a juvenile delinquent. And don't give me this "he's an artist" crap, it's vandalism plain and simple.

you can have all the talent in the world, he might have indeed been able to create amazing things.  Too bad he had no basic level of respect for property.

Do you think he (or anyone in his circle) would approve of me going over to his place of residence and tagging my name, or whatever I felt like all over his doors and windows? No, because nobody wants to have their stuff trashed by some random piece of crap.

The fact he caused his own death... well that's just hilarious irony.  Imagine if he'd taken his love of art in a less destructive manner, he'd probably be alive today.

Hope it was worth it asshole -- at least now tax payers will have to pay just a little bit less to return the city to it's un-tagged state.

Like carlin said -- you can joke about anything. This is no exception.

"Although he sold canvasses, he represented that older-school breed of graffiti writer who had no interest in mainstream recognition,'' the writer posted on animalnewyork.com."

Wonder if he's inferring the guy wouldn't sell out. If he is, then I can't understand why it would be wrong to earn a living from your skill.

My running theory is somewhere back in the day the rich got annoyed at the whole patronage thing and decided to steer popular thought in the direction of "asking to be adequately compensated = selling out = not a true artist" to reduce costs.

Nothing was destroyed, and it is art no matter how much rubes and property fetishists try to claim otherwise.

I see your vast knowledge of NYC comes from 30 year old movies.

I'm against the tradition in the Middle East of cutting off the fingers or hands of people who are caught stealing.  Sometimes when you're so poor you haven't eaten in days, it is all you can do to survive.

But I'm all for it regarding people who tag.  Worthless asshats.
