It's a shame early America focused so heavily on the yellow hair'd god and his lusty maids being forced to flee instead of on Bacchus's wine.

In some respects, it seems like Australia figured out the right ordering of those two priorities.

I didn't know Mike Rowe could sing. That was impressive. I also never thought I'd hear him say the word "sluts"

This turtle was crossing my yard. I was going to use the soccer ball as a reference to show the size of the turtle. I guess he found the ball a bit threatening.

Does anybody else think it looks like a snapping turtle snapping at the ball?

That's the third verse of the song that the Star Spangled Banner was based on, not the third verse of the actual Star Spangled Banner, which is actually kind of badass:

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion,
A home and a country, should leave us no more?
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave,
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

He did opera early in his career - the winding path of his career would be a hell of a racetrack
