Nah - too long, not enough explosions, not enough cockpit footage showing the pilot's hands holding the joystick like an out-of-control dick, too much talking bullshiat for this list.

/Also one of my favourite movies of all time.

Seriously. If there's a bigger "patriotic" movie out there, I haven't heard of it.  I think that was the whole point of the movie.

I agree with those asking about The Right Stuff and add Apollo 13, "With all due respect, sir, I believe this is gonna be our finest hour."

Die Hard? Really? REALLY?

Don't get me wrong, it's a great action flick with many memorable lines and bits that make it an enjoyable rewatch, but it's not a flag-waver.. it's a Christmas movie.

Replace that with Glory or The Birth of a Nation.

/not a single Civil War movie in the list? REALLY?

I get that 'Murica is suppose to be sarcastic but when you use it on an average of three times per sentence you should really go 'Murica yourself tonight by pointing some bottle rockets at your 'Murican face.

Apollo 13 didn't have enough explosions and/or gratuitous violence.

ID4 on the other hand was more about humanity than about Murkah!

Rocky IV should have been #1. Awesome soundtrack ("Living in America," "Burning Heart," AND "Eye of the Tiger"? Sign me up for the awesome train), and a story line appealing to our biggest stereotypes of the 1980s ... Merkah! fark yeah!

Die Hard doesn't belong. The LA setting certainly helped sell theater tickets, but the story could easily have taken place in Toronto or Paris or Tokyo. There was nothing exceptionally patriotic about John McLain - he was just one hell of a cop catching one hell of a robber.

I also question Armageddon being on the list. Their butts were saved by the cosmonaut, if I remember correctly.

This is the 'murica list.

Had it truly been the America list, it would have included The Right Stuff, Saving Private Ryan, Glory, Field of Dreams, Lincoln, Miracle etc.

And League of their Own for some estrogen representation.

[Quinlan fires a pistol at Vargas, not hitting him]
Quinlan: That wasn't no miss, Vargas. That was just to turn you 'round, so I don't have to shoot you in the back. Unless you'd rather run for it

Yeah; that wasn't Jennifer Grey, that was Orson Welles in "Touch of Evil".  Sick, cynical, corrupt - but in the end he was right.
He was some kind of a man.  What does it matter what you say about people?

I usually don't comment on how crappy a list is...but god damn, this one was shiat.

First off, about half of those movies don't even belong.  Second off, no Olympus Has Fallen - which out-patriots that half that should just be removed.  That movie took pains to show a woman being dragged to her execution screaming the Pledge of Allegiance.

Two great movies but with very different feels to them. Liked them both very much but I have to side on Saving private Ryan. Vin Diesel killed in the first 45 minutes of that movie is my tipping point. He was a bad actor then and is a bad actor now.
