Joe Maddon -- looks like a nerd; cool as shiat.

Normally this kinda thing would amuse me, but seeing as the Rays just swept the Yankees (dropping them below .500), it just further pisses me off.

/Rays currently down 7-1 to Tigers, so maybe basing your lineup on ancient pop culture references isn't tactically sound

8-1 now. I'm sure it's the pitching & not the clever lineup. Somehow.

/this is just off the wall

I figured he had a whole lineup of Jennys.

//which would've been cooler than this lameass 867yadayada shiat

Who can he turn to?

Jenny was a poor choice. Should have went with Jessie's girl.

I hear Billie Jean's pretty available these days.

Will Joe Madden bring Sister Christian out of the bullpen?

In reality, the Tommy Two-Hits-All-Night lineup.

It's not that far off from their usual anyway. Consider

Hanigan usually bats leadoff
Zobrist usually bats 2nd (variety of positions, certainly no stranger to SS)
Joyce usually bats 3rd, though his position might vary somewhat
Longoria usually bats cleanup (occasionally 3rd)
Loney is their usual shiatter

So likely, this is more a case of Maddon having realized that he's been *this close* to having that lineup for awhile now, and deciding to have some fun, knowing that the shuffling of your four worst hitters in the four last places in the lineup realistically doesn't mean anything. I think, even if you put them in worst-to-best order from then out, you'd be talking about the difference of maybe a half a win over the course of an entire year, run-expectancy wise. Besides, your DH and RF *should* be better than your 2B and C.

You might want to spell out "five-hitter" in the future. Or not, your call.
