Launching Ted Nugent into the air and watching him blow up would be a good way to celebrate the 4th, actually.

How are we supposed to do that? Go kill an elk and have sex with a couple of underage girls?

STFU, you draft-dodging imbecile. Aren't you supposed to be dead or in jail by now?

Ted Nugent:

pedophile
draft dodger
chicken hawk
racist
overrated "rock star"
known pants pooper

Yep. That's how conservatives like their patriots, alright ...

Has anyone mentioned that he is a draft dodger yet? Uncle Sam must be proud.

I don't think he is any more deranged than Coulter, Beck, Hannity; Limbaugh, or any of the other wingnut 'personalities'. They live by being in the news. As such, they have to one-up the outrageous statements of their compatriots. You don't get the lucrative Fox invites by sounding reasonable.

To mix metaphors, I think he's overplayed his hand and shown his cards.  A comment he made awhile ago really convinced me he knows exactly what he's doing and is enjoying the attention and notoriety.

I guess Occam's Razor would cut toward your explanation.  But I've begun to question his sincerity to Teabagger dogma.

I think the most amusing thing about someone assassinating Ted Nugent is the fact that he thinks it can't be done because he frequently poses with a bunch of weapons and shoots tame deer.

And the term "huge Nuge" he occasionally is called is a reference to the size of the turds he deposits in his shorts and not any of his male parts.  Plus he always has been and forever will be a crap musician.

He's always been an extreme (and not terribly bright) libertarian. And he's found a new audience for that.

Look, if you don't like Ted Nugent when it comes to politics, fine. That's your business. But you cannot deny the extraordinary impact the man has had upon American music, and indeed, our culture as a whole. When I think of influential American artists I usually think: Melville, Welles, Warhol, Elvis, and Nugent. Those are the big ones. 100 years from now people in Beijing's national museum will walk right past the Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo so they can head to the pure white room containing only a single speaker blasting "Cat Scratch Fever" continuously.

Criticize the man's politics if you must, but respect his incomparable musical talent. He's a goddamned cultural icon.

My brother and his pot-smoking buddies were SOLID into Nugent @ 1978. They liked Kiss a lot, too, and Rush. Kind of the libertarian bleeding-eardrum trio.

I was laughing until I imagined just the sting at the actual 'cat scratch fever!' line being played on infinite repeat in a pure white room, and even just imagining it gave me the heebie jeebies.

This is why Hillary needs to win. I'm no fan of legacies, and she in particular I find kinda creepy (that farking laugh, gah!) But it will be worth enduring a biatchy schoolmarm president just to see the people who lost their shiat over Bill Clinton lose it all over again. All of this craziness about Obama is the same stuff that they were yammering about in the '90s; there just wasn't an Internet to amplify it.

So, Fark, what will the Liberal Icons (tm) be doing to show their appreciation to the country that afforded them the opportunity to become rich and famous?

Or are Babs, Alex Baldwin, Dixie Chicks, etc. just gonna sit it out? Patriotism is just soooo icky, right?  Best not to show any appreciation for a society that gave them so much....

Most liberal icons (Al Franken, Jon Stewart, Colbert, et. al.) have done USO gigs in Afghanistan. I don't know about Alec Baldwin; he's mostly an icon to himself. Just because somebody is labeled a liberal icon in "South Park," doesn't make it so. Waving the flag and saying "America, fark, yeah!" isn't patriotism, its chauvinism.

His first 3 solo albums are pretty good, and I had all 3 in 1976 or so. FreeFor All was actually quite good, although I'll admit to not having heard it all the through in 30 or so years.

'Weekend Warrior' may be one of the worst albums of all time, though.
