His mustache should write the memoir.

His career was in the doldrums before boogie nights and I think he's hinted at all the people who stopped returning his calls.  I wonder if he's going to name names.

He should have written it under the name Turd Ferguson.

One of my guilty pleasures is the movie Hooper. My dad and his buddy took me to the drive in to see it when I was 8 or so. Heard my first curse words (other than dad at home), and decided right then and there that Sally Field had a great ass.

From cheesy pop (Smokey, Ace, Hooper) to better than average (Longest Yard, Sharky's Machine, Boogie Nights), he delivered.

Too bad he couldn't transform into a reliable older character actor.  Too much ego, I guess.

One of the few serious actors that made the successful transition to comedy.

The whole thing on My Name is Earl where he played the boss of the town and then his son was played by Norm MacDonald basically doing a Burt Reynolds impressions was probably one of the most hilariously brilliant things I have seen on TV.

Another Government Employee: From cheesy pop (Smokey, Ace, Hooper) to better than average (Longest Yard, Sharky's Machine, Boogie Nights), he delivered.

Too bad he couldn't transform into a reliable older character actor.  Too much ego, I guess.

Whattaya call Without A Paddle? Talk about character!

He was wonderful in Starting Over as well. Not to forget Deliverance.

The flip side of his role in Deliverance. (it was pretty good. I would guess more than half the audience didn't get the joke)

I'm not sure I do. I mean, I get where you're headed, but I doubt that was Burts mindset when he read the script/part, i.e., "Hey, this is totally opposite of Lewis---I want this role!" And really, are the 2 characters that different? (aka flip sides of each other?)

Or "I don't believe in life insurance." (sorry, I'm quoting from memory)
