With the way Colorado was able to but that system in place fairly quickly, it served as a reminder that the hacks in Olympia, Washington suck at their jobs.....it's still not available for legal sale up here.

/IIRC, it starts next week.
//IMHO, they should have done it this week, so more people could REALLY enjoy the fireworks on Friday.

The picture in TFA is rather dystopian...lol.

Hopefully the rest of the country figures out that fighting the War on Drugs is FAR more costly than allowing people to make their own choices.

Does anyone have statistics on whether cannabis use has gone up, down or remained the same?  That would be interesting to know.

It's probably a state full of people that can't stop farking talking about pot.

FTA: "Marijuana-related arrests, which  make up 50% of all drug-related crimes, have plummeted in Colorado, freeing up law enforcement to focus on other criminal activity" PISSING OFF LAW ENFORCEMENT WHO WANTED BIG OL' PENSIONS FROM CRIME-RELATED MONEY.

FTA: "By removing marijuana penalties, the state saved somewhere between $12 million and $40 million in 2012, according to theColorado Center on Law and Policy."

I call b.s. on that one. You KNOW they want their money, honey!

I heard about this lady named Danny Noonan and she met these people at the Denver Yacht Club and this kid had some weed and he said "This is good stuff.  I got it from a negro" and so she smoked it and then she tried to fly and she jumped through a window and so because of marijuana the only job she can get is a pundit.

I heard it from my cousin who heard it from a cop, so you know it's true.

To be fair, they were like that before it was legal, too. At least in Boulder.

BTW, resist the urge to say "This is good stuff.  I got it from a negro" when in mixed company.  Many people have not seen Caddyshack - especially women under 30.  It did not go well when I attempted it.

The DEA is now asking the Food and Drug Administration to remove marijuana from its list of the most dangerous and harmful drugs. This could signal a radical shift in the way our government regulates and enforces weed.

Wow. That's very shocking.

As an illegal medical marijuana user (Pot has practically cured my Crohns) I look forward to NYS finally getting their heads out of their asses about this. The MM law they just passed is a joke. It limits the diseases that can be treated by MM to only 6, with another 6 or so possible in a few months if they decide that the evil weed hasn't destroyed society. Just who the hell do these idiot politicians think they are to decide what medical conditions should or should not be treated by pot? Unfreaking believable.

I'm looking forward to the research that's coming down in the next five years on use of cannabanoid compounds in autoimmune diseases.

well, second hand mind you, the major effect was in availability of harder drugs going down. Turns out most of the dealers of the hard stuff depended on weed as a mainstay, offering the other stuff when available. Now that they don't have that, they've found it far less lucrative.

Something to put in your pipe and smoke...

The question is, when will Amazon be able to deliver it by drone?

Well no shiat.

Where are all the prohibition shills that usually jump on pot threads to talk about how they get high on life and weed isn't safe or good for society and blah blah blah?

Are they not eager to eat their words?

LOL I just thought of a drone pilot while high:

"It's like I am there, delivering weed to this guy, this...*reads name on slip* Alberto Johnson, and I am the Weed Fairy, but I'm also here, driving this toy, and it's blowin' my mind, man. My mind- it is blown!"

"Same."

Former prohibition shill here.

I tried it. Didn't die. Preferred it to booze. No hangover.

I still, in general, prefer being sober, but I've no qualms about legalization.

I stopped smoking regularly about 3 years ago.  Then began 18 months of torment from gout.  Gout so bad I couldn't walk.  Pain so bad I was hallucinating. I went to ERs, doctors, specialists, and was prescribed all sorts of meds.  Nothing worked.  I finally got hooked up here in my new town (not an easy thing for an old man), and within a month the gout was gone. Now every time I have to go without weed, mostly due to no money, within two weeks the pain starts up again.  I cannot speak for anyone else, but for me marijuana is the difference between old crippled guy who has a hard time getting around and bed ridden old man.  Not a hard choice.

/BTW yesterday Indiana reduced marijuana penalties quit a bit
//still not decriminalization
///but you gotta start somewhere

I recall a farker mentioning that Washington was selling it thru their state store system and that was the hold up. Do you know if that's the only way it's sold?
