He should end up in the Hall of Fame.

.

As long as he pays admission like anyone else.

That won't change my opinion of him.  Which is not high.

Send him in as a DH

Yup. And I saw him play plenty. fark that guy. Nice numbers, but that's it.

Anyone remember when los Gigantes got rid of Matt Williams to keep Bonds? How did that work out World Series-wise?

Is he out on bond?

The three years after he broke the HR record.

Sure he roided up to the extreme, but it was still hilarious how much better he was than everyone else. We're never gonna see another guy in history that teams will just walk out of fear.

I was gonna make fun of how stupid this post was, but then I realized who posted it. At least you're consistent.

Anyone wanna see MFAWG claim that Duke Snider was a more valuable player than Ted Williams? Rings über alles.

And how many World Series rings were each of those gentlemen wearing when they passed on to the great diamond in the sky?

Stat geeks like you have no real understanding of the game at the end of the day. Just a computer full of spreadsheets and bullshiat on the innergoogles.

As many as Nap Lajoie, Ty Cobb, Tony Gwynn and Harmon Killebrew. You know, "baseball's worst players ever."

Yeah clearly. I just don't grasp the greatness of Charlie Silvera and his 6 rings. Also, I had never heard of Charlie Silvera until 2 minutes ago.

You know, he had a -8 OPS in 1950. Larry Doby might've had a 156 OPS+ that year, but we all know who was better.

It reminds me when I seen Big Papi's stats, barely 2,000 hits and 450 home runs. What's even funnier are pitchers with 2-7 records that get caught with steroids. You know your career is ended when you want to argue hits with an umpire rather then pull a bonds and just hit another homerun and piss everyone off.

Barry Bonds was a piece of shiat teammate, and that was a known deal when they sent Matt Williams to Cleveland JUST so they could keep Bonds. And Williams was no slouch with the bat, or the glove, and he was a bit of a red ass who made the players around him better.

Guess who was wearing a ring 5 years later? Guess who still doesn't have one?

MFAWG: JUST so they could keep Bonds.

Yep, no other reason. Definitely didn't get the future 2000 NL MVP back, or clear a lineup spot for the future 2003 AL batting champ.

MFAWG: Guess who was wearing a ring 5 years later?

Ken Huckaby! Eric Knott!

MFAWG: Guess who still doesn't have one?

Ken Griffey Jr! Carl Yastrzemski!

Boy you sure made your point. I still have my Ken Huckaby poster up in my mom's basement.

Not only that but they let the Thrill go to make salary room for bonds. I hated him so much I completely swore off baseball. And I bleed orange and black.

Well, ya gotta remember that Will Clark and Matt Williams are really no better than Ken Huckaby.

They convict him of obstruction but acquit him of lying? So he's guilty of talking like a drunk politician? Last time I checked that wasn't a crime.

A lot of people seem to hate someone whom they never met for not being a friendly guy, or for doing a little drugs. I wish my team was full of awesome players who were mean.

Bonds was the target of a witch hunt that cost tax payers - and Bonds - millions of dollars and resulted in the single obstruction conviction which is now, possibly, going to be overturned. Personally I think that Bonds should be reimbursed for all his legal expenses by the jackholes who persecuted him and hounded him for years. People act like Barry Bonds was a terrorist or serial child molester and go into a frothing rage at the very mention of his name, and that is not a rational response. Those people have been conditioned like Pavlov's dogs by the media to hate Barry Bonds, who didn't trust or like the media (I wonder why). Bonds was just a baseball player who, despite being possibly the best of his generation, wanted to be better. Like all professional athletes, Bonds is very competitive. He is, by most accounts, kind of a dick. But if you find your bile rising at the mention of his name, or feel your blood pressure skyrocketing at the very idea of Barry Bonds, then you should take a deep breath and think about how you've been manipulated by the media and their gleeful pillorying of Bonds in order to feed red meat to the 24/7 news cycle.

Well, the '93 Giants with Bonds (103-59) were waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy better than the '92 Giants with Clark (72-90). Similarly, the '97 Giants with Snow and Kent (90-72) won considerably more games than the '96 team with Williams (68-94).

I got over it. Both times.
