Sorry guys, the copy machine is broken and we need the money to fix it before we can make you the copies you requested.

For all this acrimony and lawsuit slinging, applying name-your-own price financial penalties to name-your-own-offense public actions must be a pretty lucrative "business".

This is the problem with the "it'll be free, the operators will pay to install everything" mentality that came with the red light cameras. Building the system and operating it should have been two different bids.

Elliot S. Maggin wrote a great Superman novel where Xerox machines smuggled from Earth were top sellers on the intergalactic black market, as we had the best reprographic tech for galaxies around.

Basic problem that about the only weapon we have against the Plutocracy is to insist on max transparency in everything that impacts on Joe Public

One of the insidious tactics that are used to resist this is charging extortionate fees for being transparent

Hi, guys.  What's going on in this thread?

TedCruz'sCrazyDad: Hard to say who to root for in this dispute.

A corrupt city administration, or two companies trying to profit of traffic scameras. I'd say "none of the above"

Having worked for Xerox in the past, I'm rooting for the corrupt city administration.

Ah the old "emails are attorney client privilege" that all disputes eventually get to when companies tell their employees to always CC the company attorney.

Hard to tell which side to root for. Xerox probably did simmering shady and ATS is definately shady.

Like the previous poster said: the contract should have been split in two for installing and operating. ATS isn't saying where their wires are, and they wouldn't have that leg to stand on if the contract were written in a better way.

I'm more interested that ATS handed the legal paperwork to some random flunky in a local office of one of Xerox's agents rather than sending it to the lawyers in the hope that that it would get lost and they would get a ruling by default when Xerox didn't respond. And then had the audacity to insult Xerox when they got caught.

The Johns are fighting over the Hooker.

And the residents of Philidelphia get screwed.

Yeah, nuke them from orbit.

We have two large Xerox printers at our company and one of those printers is now (has been for 1-2 years now) supported by a company called ESI.

/extremely poor support from them if it involves anything more than a license update
//ordering supplies for it is a ridiculous process as well
