Since this greenlit thread has been bouncing back up the queue all day I'm commenting to maybe weigh it down. Ya know, before it goes another game past being newsworthy.

Anyway, that was really cool to watch, I'd like to see the whole half inning again. I almost said fark it and went for a shower, but I stuck it out and watched, I thought there was no way the Tigers were coming back. As soon as the bases were loaded I had that "it's going to happen" feeling.

There are wins and then there's http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/index.jsp?gid=2014_06_30_oakmlb_detmlb_ 1&mode=video" target="_blank">this. Rajai Davis and the Tigers were trailing the Athletics 5-1 entering the bottom of the ninth. Nick Castellanos and Alex Avila led off the frame with back-to-back singles.

Someone wasn't watching the game when they wrote that.

He apparently hit it so hard it knocked a letter out of his first name.

I was at the game and it was epic.

After Joba gave up two, the park emptied faster than Motor City's buffet when he walks in.

By the time the 9th rolled around there were maybe 10,000 of us left and when Jackson started working the count we made it *loud* in there.

/Hardy did fine and got the W but Phil Coke, Jackson and Rajai win that game for us
//Not a Joba hater but he seems to do his worst in pressure situations

Last nights game was better. A complete game shutout by porcello. He didn't strike out anyone but he didn't walk anyone and only threw 92 pitches. That is efficient.

You'd think MLB.com could at least get the score right. It was 4-1, not 5-1, when he hit the homer.

Which should be obvious since the entire story doesn't make a lick of sense if the Tigers were trailing by 4.

I hate the farking Tigers with the fire of a thousand suns but walk-off grand slams from 3 down in the bottom of the ninth are the things childhood dreams are made of.

And quick.  According to the stats, the game started at 7:08pm EST and lasted two hours and thirteen minutes.  It ended less than ten minutes after sunset.

It's the first CG by a Tiger with 0BB and 0K since Dizzy Trout in 1944

And Tigers fans sphincters were able to relax knowing the bullpen's services would not be required.
