What is that, the name of Taco Bell's new limited time special?

Imagine the outrage if AeroMexico tweeted "Tot ziens!" with a picture of wooden shoes. We would be hearing about it for weeks.

I'm a Big Oranje fan and I thought that PK was a bad call. I would have rathered they settled it in extra time after that great first 90'. To end it on a PK like that was weak sauce.

2014-07-01 10:17:09 AM
Well maybe they should build a bridge and get over it.

2014-07-01 10:18:09 AM
Well, it least it wasn't a brown skinned, black haired, mustachioed man with a wet shirt and a string trimmer. I mean, if we're gonna get racist, let's do it right.

Did a lot of Mexicans actually travel on KLM?

They could probably tell the whole country to shove a taco up their asses, and not lose a penny over it.

Joking around in any way is now racist and makes you a big meany.

Those tweets were hilarious. Mexico took their exit way too seriously. I have no idea why Arjen Robben admitted to flopping... he was tripped and fell in the penalty box. That's a penalty shot, not a conspiracy.

That's not a Mexican. That's an honest hard-working Unofficial AmericanTM, out to make a better life for himself and his family.

/and he's probably from Guatamala

He admitted to falling without contact in the first half, not to flopping to draw the game-changing penalty.

Because he flopped.
It would have looked more realistic if he had clutched a string of pearls and landed on a fainting couch.

Because he didn't. He admitted to diving in the first half.

And good lord - even IF it were a dive, if you add up the number of times in the last 40 years I've been watching soccer that the Dutch have been victimized by Italy or Brazil or Argentina pulling the same shiat - I'd say we're a LONG way from even.

In Robben, they finally have a first-class flopper.

Some Dutch can trend toward elitism and all the insensitivity that goes along with that.  Especially the really tall blonde ones.

If it said tschuss and showed a kraut in lederhosen nobody, including people who laugh at being called krauts, would give a fark.

That said, a business should know better than to poke at people after a major sports loss. Sports fans are farking crazy.

Do you mean the Dutch, the norther European soccer team well known for their flopping? Those guys? the guys who have been known to flop in the last few WC? Either you don't watch soccer or you are a homer. And yes, Mexico deserved to lose and yeah it was a PK, but to say that the Dutch are "victims" is absurd.

"It was meant to be a joke," KLM spokeswoman Lisette Ebeling Koning told The Associated Press, adding that the airline never intended to offend Mexicans, which it serves via a daily direct flight between Mexico City and Amsterdam.

That's some sweet PR there.  Turn an explanation into an ad, highlighting daily service between the two countries.

If Mexicans were dismissive of the complaints other brought regarding the 'puto' chant then they have no business getting butthurt over KLM poking fun at them.

I admired the pluck and determination of their squad after looking like a complete farce during qualifying. Would have like to have seen the game settled in extra time as well. But can't we all savor the fact that the fan base of El Tri, that has no problem yelling the equivalent of "f*ggot" at opposing goalkeepers, booing and jeering during an opponent's national anthem, throwing bags of vomit and urine the pitch, and taunting the USMNT with chants "Osama" may deserve the karmic smackdown they received? The only thing whinier than their fans are their players on the pitch.

I don't know either.

But he was refering to an episode in the 1st half.

In the same interview he also, correctly, explained that he was cheated for a PK in the 1st half as well, and that the one in the 2nd half was legit.

Somehow Mexican media "managed" to translate that into them being cheated.

Since Robben, yes. But I'd argue that's a case of "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em."

I've been watching soccer a long, long time. I have a very long memory.

Yep, he flopped. The boy dives like a submarine.

He WAS fouled, but he embellished the crap out of it. I find it distasteful, and the very thing that used to drive me nuts when other countries played Holland. But until FIFA get rid of simulation entirely, those teams that flop have an advantage over the nobler teams that don't. I see no virtue in dying with your cleats on at this point.

The amount of butthurt that this has caused my hispanic clerk is nearly comical.  I finally looked at him and said "Duke sucks."

Unfortunately, he is a very young and has no idea of the Duke/Kentucky game in 1992 but his whining is reminding me of the nonstop tears of my friends after that game.

Ha, not angry. Like I said, Mexico deserved to lose, they decided one goal was enough, they lost. But to your point, Robben is no spring chicken, he has played in at least 3 WC. And the Dutch, as you know, have the distinction to be the only northern European team considered to be floppers and or dirty players. So as a sports fan, to call them victims is willfully ignorant.

Not Mexican, by the way. I would love the cup to stay in the Americas, and now the Dutch appear very beatable, so that's good.
