It wasn't all that dangerous, it may cause nausea
2004-02-12 07:19:40 PM
I'll bet it cut down on streaking in the lunchroom.
2004-02-12 07:25:00 PM
The half-pint cartons contained a disinfectant used in milk plants.

I thought milk came from mammalian boobies. I must've been out sick that week in school.

Bart: Strike eh. Ow! My bones are so brittle. But I always drink plenty of.... Malk?
2004-02-12 08:58:28 PM
Meh. When I was a kid, we didn't have this milk you kids drink today. We had to drink battery acid.

/get off my lawn

That's just like the fast food milkshakes you get right when they fire those machines up in the morning.

God, no wonder that cleaning fluid at the milk wasn't working very well...

One ingredient is hydrogen peroxide, which can cause nausea if ingested

You can pour it on your HAIR!

MOBILE, Ala. -- Cleaning fluid was accidentally packaged in cartons of fat-free milk sent to an elementary school, but a teacher noticed the odd taste and no students were hurt.

They are, however, looking for a new teacher.

2004-02-12 09:56:59 PM
Now with Vitamin R!
2004-02-12 09:57:12 PM
But I drink fat-free milk all the time. You mean, I could've died?!!!
2004-02-12 09:58:05 PM
"I'm glad it wasn't chocolate milk,'' Principal Barbara Freeman said. "We don't usually get a lot of takers on the fat-free milk.''

2004-02-12 09:58:14 PM
Oh, you mean COWS milk? Frankly I'd rather have my child drink engine degreaser... if I had a child...
2004-02-12 09:58:56 PM
That damn atkins diet's gonna kill us all.
2004-02-12 10:00:21 PM

2004-02-12 10:01:19 PM
Why didn't this get the obvious tag?
2004-02-12 10:02:07 PM

2004-02-12 10:03:06 PM
I blame PETA.
2004-02-12 10:04:24 PM
wow, i just saw this on the seattlepi. Weird how they dont tell you who the milk manufacturer was. Dairy council just had a bunch of layoffs a few months ago, just wondering if it was related due to not enough workers, etc

Coleslaw: I thought milk came from mammalian boobies.

As opposed to reptilian or avian boobies?
2004-02-12 10:09:55 PM
2004-02-12 10:10:35 PM
Ah, okay, so there are avian boobies

Corrective measures have been taken to ensure the mistake will not happen again, Tidmore said Thursday

Now, nobody really expected her to say "We reviewed our procedures and found them to be adequate. We see no need to enact additional precautions."
2004-02-12 10:12:31 PM

shame you didn't read this article...
Dairy Fresh Milk Corp. used the cleaner the night before packaging the milk that was sent to the school, the Mobile County Health Department said.

...zeitgeists... :)
2004-02-12 10:12:57 PM
You're telling me that someone sat down to design a factory and decided that putting the milk-filling line close to the cleaning fluid-filling line sounded like a good idea?
2004-02-12 10:13:13 PM
Shut up and drink your bleach
2004-02-12 10:14:28 PM
I fully expect PETA will come out with an advertisement saying that if schools didn't serve animal by-products to kids (milk), this incident would not have happened.
2004-02-12 10:15:27 PM
Authorities on the look out for this man...

70 million food related illnesses and 5000 deaths every year in the US. USDA gets a budget cut.

5000 Americans killed by terrorists over 10 years. Hundreds of billions of dollars are thrown to any organization that is remotely involved...except the USDA.
2004-02-12 10:49:22 PM
