nickdaisy: And by urban explorers, they mean trespassers and burglars.

Came here just to say THIS.

2014-07-01 04:57:44 AM
Michael had the right, just as any other US citizen, to buy whatever he wanted with money that he EARNED.
They can say it's "creepy" if they want.
That's their 1st amendment right.
I personally do not think it is "creepy" - it' was merely his own amusement park.

My neighbor left his garage door open last night. By "Urban Explorer" logic I can sneak into the house, take pictures and it won't be trespassing.  It's like they're inviting me over. Maybe I'll help myself to their lawnmower.
/what a bunch of douchebags
//not a Michael Jackson fan

Totally this.  The most I took away from that was A) lotta children statues, and B) they're really, REALLY good at this (eye roll).

And B&E is also creepy.

Actually, they go to great lengths to say "We only trespass on abandoned properties.  And given that someone was actually dusting this property, we felt weird.  Didn't stop us, but we totally felt weirded out."

What's the deal about the clock stopped at 2:55?

2014-07-01 06:48:11 AM
Burglary is usually entry with the intent to commit a felony. This just run-of-the-mill trespassing.

/creepy doesn't describe it. It's an entire estate set up for grooming

Spanky McStupid: What's the deal about the clock stopped at 2:55?

MJ didn't pay the light bill and the electricity got cut off. Evidently it was 2:55 when the power went out. The guys got creeped out because when they got to the clock it was actually 2:55. Just a stupid coincidence that they got creeped out over.

"Raphael: One thing that really sticks out in my memory was drinking his grape soda from that walk-in kitchen storage area and then very carefully wiping the fingerprints off the bottle and hiding it in the bushes.

Wait, you drank his juice?
Raphael: I was thirsty and he had all of this grape soda, and I thought I'd just drink something from his house.

Was it actual grape soda?
Raphael: Yeah! It was actual grape soda."

Yeah I just rewatched it, do yourself a favor and keep your happy memory happy.  The poster behind the register could be some original concept art but doesn't quite match the production Ice Pirates meets Breakin 2 Electric Boogaloo, with some help with a very stoned Frank Oz, that I just watched.

Neverland Ranch was foreclosed on during the 2007-2009 range and the article states that these guys did the break ins at that time.  I would still lean toward "probably not the best thing to do", but its not as black and white as it would be if it was still Jackson's residence.

They probably just released the photos to avoid any criminal legal issues.
