nickdaisy: oh great, another place in West Virginia that won't accept two dollar bills

Why would that be a problem?  West Virginians rarely carry their life savings in a single bill.

You'll find the auction notice in a filing cabinet in the basement bathroom. Both of which were locked. The "Beware of the Leopard" sign was a nice touch.

Can the plant handle the additional toxic load from Taco Bell?

Advance Auto Parts store directly west of the Subway on Winfield Road, and the Taco Bell would be built west of that. All will be part of the same parking lot in which city hall is located.

If your city hall shares a parking lot with 2 fast food places and an auto parts store.......
You might be a redneck.

My small high-end Dallas suburb moved city hall into a retail space between a liquor store and a pizza bar. The old city hall was eaten up by termites and the strip was cheap.

I think they made WalMart pay for the nice new hall. Part of really ratcheting up the cost for relaxing the town charter that says "no retail over ten thousand square feet" from the 1960s. The charter also says "no multi-unit housing", which has lead to some shenanigans when a developer tried to build town homes.

Does the charter say anything about comely lasses of virtue true?

City Hall right down the street from the Taco Bell which is across the street from the sewage plant -- if that's not the epitome of a closed loop system, I don't know what is.

No multi-unit housing is a good thing.

Taco Bell?  That must be like exotic foreign food for West Virginia.

No it isn't.  It's really stupid, because it directly causes sprawl.

But no retail over 10k square feet certainly is a good thing, at least no retail more than 10k on a single floor.  Ideally you've got 1-5 floors of retail with 4-50 of residential and commercial above that.

Did anybody else catch this:

Crum said the Taco Bell will hopefully be finished within a year, though weather and permitting could delay the opening to mid-2015.

Wouldn't it be a year from now in mid-2015? Or does WV have their own math system nowadays?

This is mostly true. Unless you've trained (punished) your digestive tract enough with their food the first reaction is "OH MY GOD WHAT IS THIS HORRIBLE STUFF".
After a while though its just like eating greasy food from anywhere else.

I can safely say I have never eaten at Taco Bell.  My rule with fast food restaurants, is that if they don't serve chicken tenders, I don't eat there.

People tend to hate me.

Taco Bell pissed me off when they got rid of Wild Cherry Pepsi and replaced it with Dr Pepper

Could be a typo. Replace "a" with "the" and it makes sense.

Though the auto parts store, the Subway and the sewage plant might be wondering what the deal is with the strange smell.

It's from The Naked Gun 2½: The Smell of Fear. "I've been swimming in raw sewage. I love it!"

One of their hot sauce packages asked me to marry it once and even though I declined I still support whatever it wants because I need admirers and then I used the hot sauce and threw the pack away and I don't care about West Virgina because there's a dinosaur on TV and it's the cop partner for Whoopi Goldberg and this is really important right now.

I don't know man. I've bee known to willingly give Taco Bell in return for something I valued (at the time).

I can't say the same for city hall.

Usually what you find in a sewer is the aftereffects of eating at Taco Bell.  Now you can eliminate (heh heh, you said "eliminate") the
middleman and waste directly.

2014-06-30 12:24:52 AM
It certainly cuts out the middleman.
