Love the non-concession in which McDaniels basically accused the Senator of being a RINO.

Good.  Cochran is one of the last few moderate GOPers who knows how to work across the aisle.  GOPer or not, Cochran is head and shoulders above that tea bagging moron McDaniels.

Sure, the Democrats would have been better served by having a Tea Derper replace Cochran, but Mississippi would have been badly served by that same moron.

Each time one of these past-it hacks has a near death electoral experience, the GOP gets a little more nervous. Good. It's like a brush-back pitch in baseball.

Wonder if this means he'll come out for federal Medicaid dollars.

My answer to myself is no, but I've been told to just lay back and enjoy it so I'm not sure if no is the right answer.

Infernalist: Sure, the Democrats would have been better served by having a Tea Derper replace Cochran

I may be in the minority, but I disagree.  I don't think we should have any of the teabagger idiots in office.  Look what just a handful did with Cruz piloting the S.S. Derp.  Get enough of those assclowns in there, and they'll do some real damage to the country, all the while blaming it on soshalizms and teh libtards, while their emboldened base eats that shiat up like chocolate.

A friend's son wrote a FB post about how he wants to see the IRS, EPA, and Education department dismantled.  I don't want a single person in federal office that agrees with this level of idiocy.

This could get very interesting., If enough Tea Partiers and conservatives are pissed off by this, they may decide to stay home on election day....  Or.... they could run as third party candidate... Opening the possibility that Mississippi... could go blue.

No, not good.  Now MS will just continue along the same road it has since the Civil Rights Movement, electing nothing but Republicans and settling for the same old mediocrity (to put it generously) that that party has always brought them, when it COULD have elected a Teabagger, learned its lesson about electing Republicans, and perhaps made a change for the better in its electoral decisions and thus its overall quality of life.

Our systems of government pretty much ensure that no real permanent damage can be done by any group within a single branch of the government.   That said, the TP might shake up the stock markets and piss off people with the most to lose.  At the end of the day, though, the TP does far more damage to the GOP brand than anything else and that's why a TP retard replacing Cochran would have been good news, politically speaking, for the Democrats.

But, that's a bit too cold-blooded for me to embrace.  The people of Miss would be terribly served by that retard McDaniels and I suppose that's more important than a bit of political advantage in the long term.

We're WAAAAYYYYY past that point.  The best hope we have now, a la my post above, is that they do enough damage, in a relatively short amount of time, for people to realize that voting Republican is always a mistake.

If the people of Mississippi were foolish enough to elect a Teahadi to Congress, they would deserve whatever happens to them. I'm not suggesting they'd learn a lesson from it; no, they'd go on blaming Democrats and liberals, just like they always have. They'd simply deserve the suffering they brought upon themselves when the federal funding dried up, and possibly serve as a salutary example to other states of what happens when you put the inmates in charge of the asylum.

It's not a question of dragging these people into the 21st century. They've barely been dragged into the 20th century. Enough is enough already. You may love your retarded cousin, but you don't give him the keys to your car.

No, that's not even a remote possibility. The Dems would have had a stronger chance of beating McDaniel. They knew they wouldn't win either way, so they swayed it to the less conservative Cochran.

The guy had three scandals before the primary was over. The Tea Party should be happy this guy didn't go to Washington and represent them. Just from that level of power hungry derp I could picture McDaniel sitting on an indictment before his two years are up.

Got any quotes, I haven't seen any specific reasoning for sending in people looking for voter fraud. But it looked like the attempt was straight up intimidation.

Republican candidate for U.S. Senate from Mississippi Chris McDaniel has opened up a significant 12-point lead over 42-year incumbent Senator Thad Cochran, Breitbart reported today.

The Citizens United Political Victory Fund poll, performed by Kellyanne Conway of The Polling Company, shows Mcdaniel leading Cochran 52 percent to 40 percent.

Excerpt from the Mcdaniel website.
