I was very surprised to find out a few weeks ago when she was making the rounds of the talk shows to celebrate her career in "journalism" that a whole lot of regular people that I know think very highly of this woman. Telling them that she slept her way to the top--- and was a key media player responsible for the intertwining of world news and celebrity news--- means nothing to them. They act like this useless b*tch is Walter Cronkite or something, and wanted to hear every detail of her glorious career.

And everyone that did so, I thought less of them for it. As in "wtf is wrong with you, are you an idiot or something?"

Her career in a nutshell.

I've unwillingly watched the View a couple times (in waitign rooms) and Walters come across as incredibly dim.   She'd get tripped up easily in discussions and ignorant of many common things.

Yah and I particularly liked how everyone had to quiet down when she wanted to speak (or else they would get the death stare until they shut up).  Then when she'd finally talk, what she had to say was dumb and often times pointless to the discussion.  Her comments were always cowardly, kowtowing to celebrities or politicians who were being criticized for whatever awful or boneheaded thing they said or did.  She made it clear she was just some mouthpiece for celebrities instead of a journalist.  Not that I was under the impression that she was a serious journalist...

The only thing I've learned from The View is how much a person can change. How did the sweet girl on Survivor become that geyser of hate, Elisabeth Hasselbeck?

/Probably just a ton of editing on Survivor
