Did the Colts get him by accident when they forgot to uncheck a box during a mandatory update from some other company?

What percentage of NFL kickers can make 60+ yarders consistently in practice? I bet it's a lot higher than you think.

That doesn't always translate to a game because... what were we talking about, Mr. Iverson?

Did he do it in a game? Then, no he can't. He can kick far in practice, good for him.

Yep.  And they didn't even realize he was there until he suddenly jumped up in the middle of a film session and warned the team they may have a virus.

Most can. A lot can routinely make 70+ yarders in practice. It's alot easier without people trying to block the kick

This.  It's an issue with the trajectory of the kick needing to be high enough to get over the linemen's arms, making the kick not as direct.

We all know that.  But that doesn't stop every idiot commentator from noting that "Kicker-X was hitting from 68 yards in pre-game warmups" near the end of every game where the lead is 3 points or less.

Thank goodness there's something for the sports fan who thought Jay Leno was too edgy and rough around the edges.

For all you amateur smartphone cinematographers out there, if you are shooting 75-yard field goals or basketball trick shots, don't ever let the ball leave the frame. Too easy to fake, not that any video can't be faked.

Sure he can hit a 75 yarder in practice, but what about two goddamn chip shots to go to the mythical national championship game???

Yes, and good luck trying to cut him.

Hey, I listen to it and I'm under...Oh, wait.  I'm not.  Damn.

I'd tell you whipper-snappers a thing or two, but I've got to be at the Golden Corral early-bird special in 26 minutes.

Jack Lambert's Missing Teeth: Did he do it in a game? Then, no he can't. He can kick far in practice, good for him.

Pet peeve about the game: final drive of a game for a team that needs a touchdown and a field goal to win or tie and the announcers will talk about the ultra-long potentially record setting field goal as if it's a viable option, then the ball never gets kicked. Never.

/if it's over 55 yards it's probably not going to get attempted.

Indeed, it's easier just to pay him to keep him around because it'd cost more money, time and frustration to get rid of him.

That is unless you want to just start over and wipe away the whole team; but then you'd be in "rebuilding mode" and no NFL team wants that stigma.

ElwoodCuse: Wind aided. In what, a tornado?

A tornado in Denver. The ball landed in Boulder.

Do it in a game, and then we'll talk.

I could be wrong but I would venture to say most PUNTERS can't consistently hit 70+ yard field goals in practice.

2014-06-25 06:34:58 PM
Most punters can't placekick for shiat. Totally different skillset.

That said, I'm surprised more don't. If you're a strong enough leg, you could be a kicker too if you have NFL level talent.

All the same, I miss big kicks. I don't follow the Raiders but I love watching Seabass come lumbering onto the field.

Wait, when did Bob & Tom become the Jay Leno of morning radio? When I listened to them in the mid-2000s (before Clearchannel destroyed the classic rock station by turning it into talk radio), they were far edgier than most of the milquetoast Raleigh programs (and nowhere near as retarded as John Boy & Billy).

What we're talking about is the same program that played songs dedicated to Internet Porn, Cleveland Steamers, and comedians like Greg Giraldo and Mike Birbiglia?

Most of my friends who still live in Indy listen to him at least now and again. Then again, that's a local show, so it's not surprising. I never really cared for them. Rather listen to music in the morning than people talking, even if they are theoretically funny (they aren't).

Meh.
I used to watch Morten Andersen split the goalposts with 72-yard kicks at Michigan State on the practice field across from Case Hall before they enclosed it.
His longest in a game was 63 yards.

If he keeps the team's computers virus-free that would be a first for a McAfee.

For some reason, after Janet Jackson's boob was shown on TV, the FCC cracked down on radio.
