Rixel: Stupid paywall......Okay, was it Abe Vigoda?  It was Abe Vigoda, wasn't it?

Now, now. They don't like to be called pay-walls. That's racist. They prefer to be called Value-added Options.

GBU was Wallach and Van Cleef's movie.  Both should have gotten billing over Eastwood.

You may run the risks, my friend, but...

...I do the cutting.

If we cut down my percentage...

Cigar?

...it might interfere with my aim.

But if you miss, you had better miss very well.

Whoever double-crosses me and leaves me alive...

...he understands nothing about Tuco.

Nothing!

Funny, it was my first spaghetti western.  And I fell asleep the first time I watched it.  I don't know why, but the second time I watched it, something clicked on in my brain and I was hooked.  I've seen the no name trilogy now probably 30 times since.

He had all the best lines in that movie.

"Hurrah! Hurrah for the Confederacy! HURRAH! Down with General Grant! Hurrah for General... What's his name? Lee! LEE! Ha ha. God is with us because he hates the Yanks too. HURRAH!"

"You want to know who you are? Huh? You want to know who's son you are? You don't, I do, everybody does... you're the son of a thousand fathers, all bastards like you. "

"You never had a rope around your neck. Well, I'm going to tell you something. When that rope starts to pull tight, you can feel the Devil bite your ass."

"You became a priest because you were too much of a coward to do what I do."

"I get dressed, I kill him and be right back."

Yup.  Wallach's character was human, unlike Eastwood and Van Cleef's characters which were robotic killing machines.  Years ago a reviewer said of Wallach's character in GBU, "The Ugly is ugly because he's the most human."

I always like this line:

Tuco: [tied up and laying on the porch of the sheriff's office, after being dumped there by Blondie as he walks in to collect his bounty money... then, the sheriff walk out] Who the hell is that? One bastard goes in, another comes out!

Agreed. Even the exchange afterward where he lies unconvincingly to Blondie about his relationship with his brother. Just like so many of us, telling lies no one believes because it feels better to do so.

Lived to be 98.

Married to the same woman for 66 years.

Was a pioneer of one of the most innovative artistic movements (Method Acting) of the 20th Century.

Gave iconic performances in some of the most iconic movies ever made.

And only ever got a damn honorary Oscar?
