With a four year-old who rats on people breaking into her house, I think she can kiss the visits from Santa goodbye

Baby-sitter sex was almost as good as car sex.

I guess I should have included the phrase, "while I was a teen", in there somewhere.

It's an old known fact.  You cannot have a child as a witness.  They are smarter than you think, and they will not lie.  They don't really know how in that situation.

Rookie mistake, I guess.

ALL 4-year-olds are racist, the difference is that she admits it...

So, when did you finally get a bed, a kitchen counter, a sofa, a shower, and a floor?

"They got it back because of me being the superhero,"

I know she's only 4, but come on, parents. Stop telling your children that telling the truth = superhero. It sets the bar pretty low and almost implies that being full of baloney is ok.

Also telling the truth is a lame super power... they may decide to go drink random chemicals to get better superpowers and then where would we be?

THIS!

CSB - a few decades ago, one of my friends was considering having an affair.  She would take her 3 year old with her, thinking the three year old knew nothing about 'Uncle Dale'.  Well, the three year old would talk about going to the park with Mommy and Uncle Dale pushed her on the swings, Mommy and Uncle Dale were keeping warm (hugging)....

They are human tape recorders!!!!!  Beware!!!!

Oooooor, they could have told her she was a Super hero for not being afraid to tell the policemen what dhe remembered and for paying attention. Kids learn early that there are consequences for being truthful (did you eat that cookie) and reinforcing that behavior by telling a four year old that telling the truth is exactly what a super hero would do won't destroy her for life

It is really disappointing that people can be so f-ing stupid, and dishonest. OK, maybe not the dishonest part, I've learned to expect that, but that farking stupid? I'm barely in the top 10% on a good day, but people like this make me look like Einstein...

I was getting ready to type up a post jokingly scolding the little girl for thinking she was a superhero when lo and behold someone is genuinely upset about it!

She's four.  When my kid was four I told her that going all night without peeing the bed was worth a trip to Target for a new toy.  Sometimes we exaggerate for children in order to successfully ingrain an important point.

Frankly, in my mind any 4 year old kid who is willing to openly contradict an adult who is in charge (and I suppose she was told "you should listen to your babysitter") TO THE POLICE in order to tell the truth is worthy of some pretty high praise, but I can see how that would get you all riled up.

The same reason many  blacks blame their problems on "the (white) man". Makes an excellent bogeyman either way, we all have blamed problems on another race/group of people and, sociologically/psychologically, we prefer to socialize with others that look like we do and distrust those that do not.

Nice vetting of babysitter.

I heard the 911 call on the news and it was so obvious that the sitter was full of shiat. She initially sounded like she was ordering a pizza, no emotion at all. "Hi! Yes, someone is breaking into the house!" very cheerful. Then when asked for details, she tried to put some quivery fear into her voice, but failed pretty badly.

This and blaming the black neighbor makes me think the babysitter isn't quite the quickest horse in the stable.

It's called playing the odds.  More poors happen to be black so on the whole they commit more crimes.

Add in that white people have a harder time differentiating black people (the whole "all black people look alike" thing has a basis in truth http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cross-race_effect ) and you have less likelihood that you will actually ensnare someone so less chance you will put an innocent person in prison.
