Jesus farking Christ. Crysis 3 came out more than a year ago, and ran at 60+ fps on hardware that was available when it was released.

Your joke is old and tired. It needs a rest.

I'll get over it when Duke Nukem Forever is released.

It involves an old man angry about wayward tennis balls from the racquet club behind his house cluttering his yard.

I read this while alt-tabbed out of MechWarrior Online (it's on CryEngine 3) and almost spewed my coffee all over the place.

You magnificent bastard.

Anyone who knows, do supercomputers have to look like this?  Or is this designed to look cool?

Well, you'd expect Moore's law to plateau out somewhere.

Anyone know where we stand on the whole AI thing? Last I heard, our best is no smarter than a cockroach.

And boy are my arms tired.

I agree.

The Witcher 2 at full settings should be the new benchmark for self-aware supercomputers.

They need to turn on the lighting in the room, or figuring out the color-coded cabling would really suck. Other than that, yes, they can look similar to that.

I guess when you're spending millions and millions on a supercomputer, you can afford a couple grand for a sweet lighted case setup. We were all 17 once, you know how it is.

Well, I guess that right now, we just don't need something faster than 33.96 petaflops.  If we did, someone would pay for it.

Kinda what I was thinking, you can buy 10 mid sized ones for the cost of 1 big one and not have to have centralize as much.

Fun fact: servers back in the 90s had lead blocks in the case to make the server heavier on purpose, for no other reason than to make the server feel expensive.
