A $10 million dollar condo?  $600,000 a year to not even be a talking head on MSNBC?  And she has the unmitigated gall to say "I don't care about money"?

OK honey- let's do a social experiment.

You pretend to be homeless for 30 days, then write a report what it's like to eat high caloric foods with little nutritional value.  Write a report that describes how the heroin junkie next to you OD and it took a few days for the body to be reported.  Write a report on what it's like to be REALLY homeless- then get back with us OK?

I'm not going to vote for a Republican, but that doesn't mean we have to have Hillary. There must be some other possibility.

I feel a certain cognitive dissonance after being convinced Hillary was not the best candidate in 2008. Do any of the reasons for voting for Obama matter any more?

Oh, yes, tell us ALL about your populist outrage at people getting paid lots of money by private corporations to say nothing in mass media. At least with the GEICO gecko, there's no pretense of actual discourse.

I know how much we love to laugh about the chucklehead Republicans and their inability to win national elections, but lets not forget that the reason Hillary won the Texas primaries in '08 was because Rush got Republicans to vote for her in droves, because they knew she was the weaker candidate against McCain.

And in the real world Benghazi isn't a scandal, but remember the non-scandals that almost tanked Obama's run: Rev. Wright and Bill Ayers.

Not to mention that she gathered a team who built their entire strategy on a fundamental misunderstanding of how the Democratic primaries worked. I'd like to hope she learned her lesson, but she never learned from her mistakes during the primary, she just kept pushing forward on the basis that she deserved it, far beyond the point of her mathematically realistic chances of winning.

And all of that aside from the fact that isn't one of the reasons Obama won was because we didn't want to vote for another Clinton, we didn't want to take a step back, but rather forward? Someone with somewhat more progressive ideas?

And can any of you say that Congress would be less divisive under Clinton should she win? Sure, she may be tougher, but what good is that? She can't change the filibuster rules to end gridlock, she can't unilaterally pass legislation...

I just don't see a good reason to vote for her other than "she's better than the Republicans", and if we look back at the last several times we nominated "better than the Republicans" we lost.

Obviously many around here consider(ed) Obama "better than the Republicans", but speaking relatively he was a breath of fresh air that got millions of people to actively want to vote for him, not just "against the Republican".

Cut her some slack. She's never wanted for anything her entire adult life and pretty much grew up in a cocoon because of her parentage. Look at how people here angrily storm to her defense at any criticism just because of politics. She's been surrounded by that her whole life. She simply doesn't know any better. Don't blame her for that.

Rush was pushing for it, and she did win, and a larger number of previously Republican voters voted in the Democrat primary that year, and that is a standard political ploy to try and force a weaker opposing candidate since we can't vote across parties in the primaries... but I had always chalked it up to Obama being black. She won pretty much every precinct that didn't have a large African American voter base.

Ah, never mind. Just read the Business Insider link.

Based on these figures, Clinton has earned about $26,724 for each minute she subsequently appeared on air.

They didn't pay her 600k for that interview. They have paid her 600k as a correspondent which averaged out to 26k per minute of her airtime. Including the lizard interview.

Wow. Fark's Republican "mod squad" is hitting this "the Clintons are rich and out of touch" thing pretty hard lately. One headline earlier dishonestly insinuated that Hillary said she didn't regard herself as "truly well off." In context, it's apparent she's counting herself as one of the "truly well off," but contrasting her views on taxes with the views of other "truly well off" people. I guess if objective reality is against you, all you got are lies.

So are you message testing or just puking the daily talking points memo into the politics tab?

Well, it's true. it's like when Hillary said that they were "broke." They were broke. Just because they had the ability to earn millions didn't mean that they weren't broke. And I should care if Chelsea is overpaid for doing nothing? Doesn't sound like her problem.
