Better: have undercover cops wear Google Glass.

If they let Sparkplug have a shot at it, I might give them a try.

It's an obscure backlash, you've probably never heard of it.

Better idea.

Have all the other cops wear one.  We can leave the undercover ones alone.  For now.

The whole glasshole thing.
The majority of people who believe if you walk around filming them constantly it makes you a douchebag.

Google must be having a PR push for Glass as one of the local stations is running a special report on Google Glass tonight.

But it's not constantly filming. Can you imagine the heat build up, power drain, and data usage if it was constantly filming and storing it somewhere?

Not gonna bother until they can hide it all in a pair of Oakley XLJs. I want the HUD integrated with the lenses already. Enough of this teeny little external display crap. It's the future so lets try and act like it.

Already been tested, the battery lasts all of 45 minutes when constantly recording.

I love DVF, but even she can't make Google Glass cool.

But it doesn't.

The same crowd of people biatching about the Glass are the same people who biatched and moaned about cell phone cameras and cell phone GPS. Guess what? Most people just don't care, both the users and the people around them.

If privacy is your thing, you should be less worried about the devices of people around you and a lot more concerned about your cell phone provider providing warrantless data dumps to the federal government.

The question of what backlash was raised.
I provided the answer because some seem oblivious.
I am not stating my belief of why glassholes are douche bags, just what majority believe.

Walk around pointing a video camera at people and they're gonna thing you're an asshole even if you're not recording. What a farking shocker. The wired article linked in TFA sums it up;

FTA: When I wear it at work, co-workers sometimes call me an asshole. My co-workers at WIRED, where we're bravely facing the future, find it weird. People stop by and cyber-bully me at my standing treadmill desk.Do you know what it takes to get a professional nerd to call you a nerd? I do. (Hint: It's Glass.)

They keep trying to make this a thing.

It's not a thing.

The issue is that the camera is always out and you don't when someone is recording.

Would you rather I obviously have a video cam running, or a well hidden one?

Google is just about caught up with the Gavcam idea from 1998.

Put a blinking light on when it's recording. Add a buzzing sound if you must. Problem solved. People were freaked out about cell phone cameras being surreptitiously operated in bathrooms, so they added a shutter clicking sound. No big deal.

I don't know, I'm not inclined at all to purchase Google Glass, but I'm not inclined to gnash my teeth over it, either.

google glass is the segway of eyewear. so redundant. granted it seems like a cool futuristic idea, but in practice you just look stupid.

This "Glasshole" crap is nothing more than a bunch of whining goits who want an excuse to talk down to people. They're the same cockbites who biatch at people for checking their text messages in public.

Remember 20 years ago when Microsoft was considered the ultimate evil asshole tech company?

Remember how Google stated it would always be "the good guy"?
