How so?

"Help" isn't really the right word. Depth is more accurate.

Add up those PPG and add on Lebron's 25+. That's likely 90% of the Heat's scoring in those finals. 4 or 5 people providing that much offense means the team is dependent on just a few people to do all the scoring. That means the team has no depth. Hence, Lebron needs help.

Jordan's teams were fantastically deep. They had a ton of people spreading the ball and the scoring load. You can and should lean on LeBron and Jordan, but they can only do what they do; 30/7/7, every night. When the rest of team can't play, you need help, or rather, depth.

And that's ignoring the fact that one of the players on the second Bulls threepeat was the best rebounder of all time, whose offensive job was to get the ball and reset the offense. And that Lebron's role isn't primarily a scorer. He's their playmaker. He makes passes, and passes that lead to passes. The Heat lost in the finals at least partially because LeBron's assist numbers were down. Not because he wasn't making passes, but because his team was missing open looks constantly.

ElwoodCuse: Isn't he just going to shake down Miami for more money? Can he get more? Not sure how the NBA cap works.

If he goes back to Miami (which is still likely) it'll be for less money...and it'll be contingent on Wade & Bosh restructuring their deals because the Heat need to spend a decent amount of coin to restructure the rest of their roster.
