Oh, they would.

...and half of the Cavs fans would sing his praises, re-raise the "Witness" banner downtown, and forget how he tanked in the 4th quarter / game when it mattered.  Not to mention the fact that they would tell themselves that things like "The Decision" happens, is water under the bridge, and it's time for him to come "home".

He can't get more from anyone. This is about exploring possible options (of which returning to Miami is one of them)

If he goes back to Miami (which is still likely) it'll be for less money...and it'll be contingent on Wade & Bosh restructuring their deals because the Heat need to spend a decent amount of coin to restructure the rest of their roster.

But nobody will restructure, because making 18 million on a mediocre team is better than 16 million on a contending team.

If they leave LA, it'll be to go to Kansas City. Why? Because f*ck Seattle, that's why. The NBA won't ever let another team in there until/unless there's a new arena, and that won't ever happen in Seattle until/unless there's an NHL team coming to town. And the NHL will absolutely not expand for several more years, because there's no way they can add more teams to the PST without realigning, and they just did that with the last CBA, which doesn't expire until 2021.

Recap: Seattle can't build a new arena until it has both NHL and NBA teams to fill it. NHL will not add a new team or relocate an existing team, because they just went through a labor dispute and realigned the whole league, and adding a new team to the PST would screw all of that up. Clippers alone are not sufficient to justify a new arena, and even if one did miraculously get built, the NBA would still screw Seattle over, because f*ck Seattle. There's already an existing arena in Kansas City, who've been waiting patiently for years to get their promised NBA team. QED.

Except the League is not expanding. The Bucks,Pelicans and Hornets are not for sale (yet) which all three should be since they are in financial trouble. Those moves would make the most sense. Also with all the new land being purchased by Hansen  since the Clippers deal, and now Ballmer (Hansens partner) owning the Clips the pieces are now in place. This is a very strategically planned move, its going to be well executed.

If you don't think the Clippers are moving, then why is Hansen buying more land for an Arena deal that is only going to happen with the NBA first. The guy would not be buying more land if there wasn't a team coming especially in the location of where the land is being bought.

Give it time....I say maybe 1-2 years then all of a sudden Ballmer will move the team.

Wrong, The Arena deal is already in place for the NBA first  Hockey is an afterthought and would be nice but the MOU on the Arena deal builds with an NBA team not the NHL. The land, the funding for the Arena is already in place. So is the team now.

Also, yes the league will not allow the team to move to Seattle. Or does Ballmer have some deal in place already with Adam Silver....There is more to this than it appears on paper my friend. Nobody is going to come right out and say yes, we are moving.....but just wait.

I have liked Lebron since I found out about him his junior year of high school. He is bright, well spoken and conducts himself well with all the spotlight he has on him. The "decision" was a clusterfark but if that is the only real black mark you have that is pretty good. That being said him giving up in the 4th quarter in Cleveland and the entire Heat team giving up after the first quarter of game 3 makes me sad for him only professionally but he still a good person and I will be his fan and just like Peyton Manning is probably the best at their positions we will see in our lifetime that are good decent human beings.

Well, Balmer is trying to buy the staples center and the Kings. If he pulls that off too, I doubt he'll want to relocate everything. Maybe move the Lakers?

DING DING DING!!!!!!

This is exactly why he is moving. The Kings just won the Stanley cup. They aren't for sale nor will they be. The Staples center is not for sale. Ballmer will ask for a new arena to be built in LA. Again he doesn't want to be second fiddle to the Lakers. He will get denied an arena in LA where there will already be an arena in Seattle being built.

Adam Silver knows this...I guarentee you he already knows that they are moving. Ballmer came in and hooked the NBA up by taking the franchise from a racist at a very large blockbuster price tag. Nobody pays 2 billion dollars to sit behind the Lakers.

"Help" isn't really the right word. Depth is more accurate.

Add up those PPG and add on Lebron's 25+. That's likely 90% of the Heat's scoring in those finals. 4 or 5 people providing that much offense means the team is dependent on just a few people to do all the scoring. That means the team has no depth. Hence, Lebron needs help.

Jordan's teams were fantastically deep. They had a ton of people spreading the ball and the scoring load. You can and should lean on LeBron and Jordan, but they can only do what they do; 30/7/7, every night. When the rest of team can't play, you need help, or rather, depth.

And that's ignoring the fact that one of the players on the second Bulls threepeat was the best rebounder of all time, whose offensive job was to get the ball and reset the offense. And that Lebron's role isn't primarily a scorer. He's their playmaker. He makes passes, and passes that lead to passes. The Heat lost in the finals at least partially because LeBron's assist numbers were down. Not because he wasn't making passes, but because his team was missing open looks constantly.

Let's compare 2014 to 1997:

Jordan only needed 67 more shots (and 26 more FTA) to score a whole 53 more points than LeBron. What an offensive juggernaut.

As I pointed out the last time this stupid image was posted, here are the things 2014 LeBron led his team in the Finals in:

MIN, FG, FGA, FG%, 3P, 3PA, 3P%, FT, FTA, ORB, DRB, TRB, AST, STL, PTS

Here are the things 1997 Jordan led his team in the Finals in:

FG, FGA, FT, FTA, AST, PTS

Here are the things 1997 Pippen led his team in the Finals in:

3P, 3PA, ORB, DRB, TRB, STL, BLK, MIN

Here is the entire list of basic stats that LeBron did NOT lead the Heat in:

Blocks (Andersen had 3, he had 2)
FT% (third behind Ray Allen and Chris Bosh)

And isn't the "LeBron doesn't have any help" from his time in Cleveland, when Dan Gilbert and Danny Ferry gave him Mo Williams, an Antwan Jamison in his early 30s, half a Shaq, Delonte West the Cougar-Slayer, Anderson Varejao, and Zydrynys Iylgyskys.  Williams and Jamison were the only other two players to average 15 PPG in LeBron's last season in Cleveland.

And the year he drug them into the Finals?  Larry Hughes, Drew Gooden, and Zydrynyrd Skynyrd - 14.9, 11.9, & 11.1 PPG, respectively.

 LOL

Lebron is a slightly better rebounder. Whatever, I'll give him that and he should be given his size and athleticism. Him playing this point forward role is obviously going to give the impression that he's a better team player/passer... he's not. Jordan played PG for a short period of time. It almost wasn't fair how easy it was for him. Triple doubles were a dime a dozen for MJ.

Who has Lebron made SOOO much better? Lebron had to team up with 2 of the top 5 players in his own draft class to get his rings. Until Lebron turns someone into a HOF'er (Like MJ did) I don't wanna hear that stuff.

LeBron's stats are just as good as if not slightly better than Jordan's.

Not sure I get what that pic was trying to convey either, because as I see it, LeBron makes the players around him better than Jordan did.

 LOL

Who has Lebron made SOOO much better? Lebron had to team up with 2 of the top 5 players in his own draft class to get his rings. Until Lebron turns someone into a HOF'er (Like MJ did) I don't wanna hear that stuff.

He turned Mo Williams into an All-star. Jordan played with one of the top 5 players in the league. Pippen was roughly as good as Wade in his prime, but Wade's prime was over about 2 years before LeBron joined the Heat.

Pippen rode the bench when he came into the league. It's well documented that Jordan was a built him up after Pippen's rookie season.

Lebron James  doesn't elevate the people around him any better than Jordan did.

Jordan made Pippen and Rodman into HoFers?

Really?

Are you high?

It is a fact that Pippen achieved more without Jordan (more playoff success via multiple teams) than Jordan achieved without Pippen.

/Jordan sycophants are the worst sycophants.

1)Never said anything about Rodman.
2) Even if I was high the facts would be the same. You should look up ...oh I don't know.... anything about Scottie Pippen's rise

Mind of the North Star: Triple doubles were a dime a dozen for MJ.

If we gave Jordan a dime per dozen times he had a triple-double, he'd have 20 cents. LeBron has 21 more triple-doubles than Jordan had in his whole career.

Mind of the North Star: It's well documented that Jordan was a built him up after Pippen's rookie season.

You spelled Phil Jackson wrong.

That was in regards to the specific period in time that Jordan played point guard.

As a general rule, players improve after their rookie seasons.

Shocking, I know.

Playoff triple-doubles:

LeBron: 11
Pippen: 4
Jordan: 2
Wade: 0

Total triple-doubles:

LeBron: 48
Jordan: 27
Pippen: 21
Wade: 4

It's tough out there having to be Jordan AND Pippen while your co-"superstar" takes half the season off to "rest up for the playoffs" and shoots with an effective FG% of 45 percent in the Finals. The only guy on the Spurs with a worse effective FG% during the Finals (who played) was Boris Diaw - all he did was lead both teams in assists.

It is interesting that he only spent 10 games sharing the ball before deciding it wouldn't work, even though the Bulls were 5-1 when he had said triple-double and DIDN'T shoot more than 25 times in the game.

They were 0-4 when he did. But hey, gotta shoot 30+ times a game to get those scoring titles.

Actually, they would love to have him back. Lebron is that good, and "at least we're not Detroit" is that pathetic.

Teams with James playing for the NBA Championship: 2-3

I don't think anyone is arguing that he didn't had help in Miami. Maybe except for that last finals. If you think anyone except Lebron showed up for the Heat then you didn't watched that finals.

It's cute though that you have been posting that pic in every Lebron-related thread since the finals like its the gospels, while everyone figures that you're an idiot.

Remember kids, quit on your team and/or lose early in the playoffs! That's far better than dragging a bad team to a Finals slaughter!

Honestly, you make a real rational point. However, Lebron can't take that stance since he proclaimed the his Heat would win 7 championships at the least. Who knows.... maybe they can if they add a few more all-stars

Let's see... Jordan failed to make the playoffs twice (with the Wizards), lost in the first round 3 times, lost in the second round twice, lost in the conference finals twice, won the finals 6 times. LeBron failed to make the playoffs twice (at an age that is younger than Jordan played in the NBA, mind), lost in the first round never, lost in the second round 3 times, lost in the conference finals once, lost in the finals 3 times, and won the finals twice. So Lebron has averaged taking his teams roughly as far as Jordan, if you assign 1 point per round + 1 for winning the finals(43 in 15 seasons vs 31 in 11 season). And Lebron is still younger than Jordan was when he started his second threepeat. He'll probably end his career worse in this though, since Jordan only played as a veteran player for 2 years, when he un-retired for the second time. so he didn't have a lot of years where he tried to carry a team after his prime.

He sure sounded serious when he immediately reiterates that he's serious about his promise. You should be calling him an idiot for truly believing that they could.

Sorry, all claims to any level of idiocy were dwarfed by Dan Gilbert's claim in Comic Sans that the Cavaliers would win a title before LeBron.

Number of times LeBron has been suspended for betting on games he played in : 0

Did Jordan do that? As long as he didn't be against himself, I don't really see the problem. It just incentivizes him to play even harder.
