That's right. Fox News is not responsible for its own content. The buck stops...nowhere.

Then I'm sure in the interest of fairness that they won't go on the attack if MSNBC or HuffPo let's a factual error slip by, right?

...

Right guys?

So journalists aren't responsible for reporting facts correctly?

Does that mean your kids' school bus driver isn't responsible if he doesn't drive safely?

Fark Fox News. All they do is twist the truth if not outright lie, and I would surely love to see them go out of business.

It's even worse. Fox News claims that you can't hold them accountable for any of the statements that come from their "contributors"; so basically unless Brit Hume or Shepard Smith say it, it's not "Fox News" saying it, and they have no responsibility and you're being a big meanie for claiming it's Fox News's fault and not Sean Hannity's fault.

I don't know, it looks like plastic. Near as I can figure, the taxi driver from the original "Total Recall" needed to pay the bills somehow after the checks stopped coming.

No, no, no. The journalists are responsible for reporting facts correctly, but it's not fair to blame Fox News for employing journalists who can't report facts correctly.

Fox News is the worse form of jounalism EXCEPT for CNN, (the MH370 network), MSNBC, (the tories are alive and well in the USA), CBS, (Rather Not), ABC, PBS and NBC.  More people watch Fox than the others, the only reason NBC, ABC and CBS are still around are elderly people without cable, (don't take my damn social insecurity).

My god I love these. Is there a complete library of all of them?

Answer: yes there is. (No idea how up to date it is.)

-Ukraine was not Frasier's brother on the show Frasier.
-Game of Thrones is not an adult version of musical chairs.
-There is no such restaurant as "Ruth's Chris Christie's."
-Jackson Browne is only one person.
-Malaysia is not the female version of Asia.
-Neal deGrasse Tyson does not own a sandwich shop named "Quizmos."

MSNBC is worse than FOX?

I mean they're both in the can for their respetive teams pretty hardcore, but FOX has MSNBC far outpaced on the bullshiat front

Long time ago I tried to watch Fox, CNN and MSNBC - I couldn't get through 20 minutes of the bullshiat. Cnn is only good for Anthony Bourdain and MSNBC for lockup raw. Not quite sure who actually watches any of it for politics.

No, that's not right.........

I hope I live long enough to organize a group of thousands who, on weekend in the Spring, will line up for miles and miles and we will all take five minutes and pinch a loaf on Roger Ailes grave.  And it will serve as a reminder to all those who want to participate in modern media that there are consequences....there are repercussions....there are memories longer than a Goldfish....there are people who might not agree with you but place a relevant value in the truth and understand that the cornerstone of democracy is an educated and informed public and interference with that like what FOX News has done should be considered as treacherous as high treason and be punished, publicly, for it in a pay-per-view event where all profits go to organizing thousands to come after your death and pinch a loaf on your grave.

" But the majority of those viewers are over the age of 55. In fact, the median age for O'Reilly is now just over 72 years old. The average Fox News viewer overall is 68.8, while the average ages of MSNBC and CNN viewers were 62.5 and 62.8, respectively."  (Link)

So the answer to your question is "old people".

Didn't the Supreme Court a few years rule that Fox News had no obligation to report facts? Or could just fabricate whatever they wanted as long as it wasn't considered slander?

Chris Hayes and Rachel Maddow are alright in moderation, although both became damn near unwatchable during the second (and third and fourth and fifth...) weeks of Bridgegate.

Fox News shines a spotlight on a huge difference between Liberals and Conservatives. Conservatives accept - or even defend - lying as long as it sticks it to the Libs. Liberals look for other sources of news when we're lied to.

So they're now claiming the journalistic version of caveat emptor?  Or are they going to go all the way and refer to themselves as a "entertainment & news" source?

Because what I just heard is that Fox News is now claiming they have no requirement to state the truth.  We know they've been operating that way for a long time, but now they're admitting it and relinquishing responsibility in totality.
