But that is just as powerful a statement as 3-6 million.  Certainly.

Ambivalence: But that is just as powerful a statement as 3-6 million.  Certainly.

Actually, it's far more meaningful when only a few people gather. See, in a crowd of 3-6 million, each individual is basically lost, anonymous. It's easy to turn out that many people because they feel like they're not really having to stand up for anything -- they're protected by their sheer numbers. But when you have only a few dozen, each of those people is literally taking his or her own safety and individuality and putting it out there, on the line, risking all for their belief. I don't think it's unreasonable at all to extrapolate that each one of the people in this crowd is worth 10, 20, 30 thousand in a "regular" crowd.

You know what's sad? That I saw that scene, and thought to myself, "Man, with MPLX Novasurge and the Xuanlong assault rifle I could TOTALLY clear that scene out before running into the Talon Company mercs inside..." Using VATS of course, because I hate to waste the weight for grenades, but a couple of plasma grenades would thin that mob right out, and if I got lucky, I could bait some Supermutants to doing some of the work for me.

Fallout 3 has totally ruined the nation's capitol for me...

I don't think they'll let me explore the metro lines for the place where the naughty nightwear was, though.

Better not. Traffic is already notoriously bad in DC. The throng of protesters will only make things slightly worse.

That's way too much effort. When I got to the Capital Building, I took out my sniper and some popcorn. The Talon Company, Enclave, Super Mutants, a few Yao Guai and some robots pick each other apart with no intervention from the player. That part is damn entertaining.

Welcome conservaderp tourists, thank you for visiting.  Please spend all of your money here so that our already strong local economy can grow stronger.  Further, we only have a couple of rules we'd like you to follow:

1) Don't drive.  Our rush hour sucks, our roads suck, and our drivers are ragey gladiators who have been doing battle with each other for years.  You are not prepared.
2) Stand right walk left.  This is mostly for escalators but may apply to sidewalks or other areas.  Seriously, get out of the way.
3) Don't jaywalk.  This is related to #1.  We want you to survive your trip so don't press your luck.

2014-06-20 02:42:08 PM
Are they gonna biatch about how shiatty the public transportation and city services are again? I gotta tell you, that was the highlight of that one rally - pissing all over public works projects because they can't fit Hoverrounds on the escalators or whatever (even though every single station is ADA compliant).

// and how's the subway service in and around the Bunch of Rocks, Idaho metropolitan area these days?
// ferries around a million-plus people a day without too many hiccups, does it?

2014-06-20 02:42:11 PM
And please, stop counting people. Crowds are measured by weight, not by volume. Some settling of patriots may have occurred during demonstration.

The problem isn't that we're not calling them idiots.  We've been doing that since day one.  The problem is the political party that doesn't want them there but also doesn't make much effort to chase them away because they're desperate to shore up their numbers.  Don't waste time worrying about the idiot, because the idiots are gonna be idiots.  Worry instead about the other idiots that give them a soap box to stand on, a microphone to speak into, and treats them as if their outdated, bigoted views are somehow on an even keel with basic rationalism.
