Khan actually said: "I'll chase him round the moons of Nibia and round the Antares maelstrom and round perdition's flame before I give him up!" . Subby has the actual Moby Dick quote correct enough.

It's a Humpback whale; not a Sperm whale. You no can has Moby Dick, not yours.

Possibly, but, it's pretty hard to mix up sperm whales with humpback whales. For one; bull sperm whales can be very aggressive. Humpbacks are more passive. Sperm whales were known to ram whaling ships. Plus, bull sperm whales can be a good 10 feet longer than even the largest humpbacks. Plus, humpback whales don't have sharp, pointy teeth about the size of a car's muffler.

See, the joke is that Star Trek II is Moby Dick, set in space, from the viewpoint of the whale.

The whale's name is Migaloo, the Aboriginal word for "white fellow."

Well, that's pretty farking racist.

Well what do you know.  The hump actually does look like a snow hill.

Orcas do, somewhat, deserve that name. They are known to eat lesser whales. They are also known to play with their food before they eat it. Imagine a 23 ft long, aquatic cat; that's a pretty good description of how some orcas behave.

/ Most orcas are docile towards people. Since we started catching them in the 70's; there have only ever been a few attacks by orcas on humans. Most of the attacks were perpetrated by bull orcas.

Gotta love Ahab:
All visible objects, man, are but as pasteboard masks. But in each event - in the living act, the undoubted deed - there, some unknown but still reasoning thing puts forth the mouldings of its features from behind the unreasoning mask. If man will strike, strike through the mask! How can the prisoner reach outside except by thrusting through the wall? To me, the white whale is that wall, shoved near to me. Sometimes I think there's naught beyond. But 'tis enough. He tasks me; he heaps me; I see in him outrageous strength, with an inscrutable malice sinewing it. That inscrutable thing is chiefly what I hate; and be the white whale agent, or be the white whale principal, I will wreak that hate upon him. Talk not to me of blasphemy, man; I'd strike the sun if it insulted me. For could the sun do that, then could I do the other; since there is ever a sort of fair play herein, jealousy presiding over all creations. But not my master, man, is even that fair play. Who's over me? Truth hath no confines.

Moby Dick was a surprisingly snarky book. I didn't even know they were mining snark in those quantities back then.

What evolutionary advantage is there to being all albino like that? I know whales don't technically have predators, but... damn that thing just stands out amidst a navy ocean.

That's because orcas are dicks.

I saw that whale off Cairns in 2004 (was heading back in on a dive boat). He and 2 standard-issue humpbacks were just tooling along, and we stopped the recommended 500 meters or whatever away... and they came over and swam a ring around the boat before wandering off. One of the most amazing things I've ever seen - and my camera was in my hotel room because I hadn't wanted to get it wet and figured the disposable underwater cameras would be plenty for the Reef anyway.

No advantage. Knocking out the melanin gene is a pretty common mutation in mammals.
