I imagine Ailes cares not what an employee's personal politics are, as long as they leave that shiat at home and stick to the talking points in his memos.

Liberal at Fox news means agreeing that Eisenhower was a Republican.

It's pretty obvious that Shephard Smith skews left of pretty much everyone at Faux News. Of the others, I'm not sure they have enough cognitive juice to actually form a cogent political philosophy.

[O'Reilly on CNN]: "They're good at what they do, covering the news. But they don't have any flamboyant, obnoxious people like you and me. Wolf Blitzer looks like a U-boat commander. You expect the periscope to come down."

That is a good line

Liberal as in "liberal doses of whargarbl."

"Rather whip up a soufflé"-a wonderful compliment or a withering dis? We report, you decide.

Seriously, blog boy?  You can't work that one out?

Hint: a souffle is a dish that is  literally made mostly of hot air, whose most common pop culture references involve their tendency to immediately collapse the moment you so much as look at them sideways.

// This guy really gives Fox contributors a run for their money on being useless and a bit dim, it actually goes a bit downhill from there as the post continues.

Geraldo is 5'9; BillO is like 6'4. Bill might also be standing slightly closer to the camera.

Although, a side note to the previous post: the fact that O'Reilly apparently has decided to take advantage of the fact that the Fox & Friends guys are dumber than a sack of hammers to chuck awesome insults over their heads in the safe knowledge that his delivery and flowery language will cause them to be interpreted as compliments... pretty farking funny.

I actually watch his show occasionally, he sort of took the "it's not news, it's entertainment" a lot more straight-on than the other Fox guys and just absolutely blatantly plays a character for entertainment value, sometimes just completely making shiat up instead of relying on talking points.

It's sort of an open question whether he or Colbert does the character better.  I guess it's a question of whether you prefer the character as a straight parody (Colbert) or as a hyperbolic exaggeration of a real, but much less extreme and thoughtless political philosophy (O'Reilly).  They're both about equally clever and can even play to each others' audiences to a significant degree, which is why some of their best bits are with each other.

// It's also possible that he used to be more sincerely angry when he was younger, I only started seeing him in recent years because of a truck stop I tend to get gas in.

Geraldo Rivera-does the right-leaning network cut President Obama enough slack?

Fox is "right--leaning" the way the KKK  "tends towards caucasians".

Greta a Liberal?

i guess ronnie reagan was a Liberal too.

FOX is infected with Talking Heads paid very well by their owners.  hence, little/no real news.

I don't know what they have now, but back when I used to watch Fox, they had that Sean Hannity guy as their token conservative. But I suppose there are some who would label anyone a right-wing conservative who doesn't have Obama juice dripping down their chin.

Is Dennis "My wife is a hot redhead" Kucinich still on Fox? If so, I doubt Shepard Smith is to the left of him.

Well necrophilia is a crime, and I doubt Reagan has anything resembling a penis anymore, so that's understandable.

There is one guy I know who is very good at saying things that are ridiculous but skirt the edge of believability just enough that a lot of people fall for it, and who never breaks character. He's one of the best trolls I've ever come across.

You're not quite up to his standard, but you're pretty close. I am impressed.

Even as the libbiest lib ever, I have to agree with him that about half of the MSNBC lineup needs to get thrown off the air.  Al Sharpton and Ed Schulz are worse than Hannity in terms of just purely how painful they are to listen to, and Lawrence O'Donnell is a smug, condescending asshole (unless he's changed in the 3 years since I last watched him).  O'Donnell is basically all the worst parts of Keith Olbermann multiplied by 5 without any of the humor or wit.

As for the rest, I don't mind Chris Matthews as much as some people do; he's loud but I think he genuinely tries to have conversations instead of shouting matches.  Chris Hayes is great, and Rachel Maddow is pretty much the perfect news host.

FTA: "With Hillary, you get Bill," he said. "Bill knows what's going on; he understands how the world works. Hillary doesn't understand how the world works. .."

This is from the guy who doesn't understand how tides work.  I don't think that he's a position to judge anybody's understanding of the world.
