I guess they're working their way through the alphabet.  S...T...  They got any models after T?

I'm glad I bought a Canyonero.

Has GM produced any vehicle in the past 20 years that hasn't been subject to at least one recall?

Diogenes: They got any models after T?

Well, given that there is the Dodge Super Duty --which sounds like the worst bowel movement ever-- I'm sure there is an Ultra something or other.

I'm waiting for the retraction when they get so carried away there's a GM press release announcing the recall of the Tucson and Santa Fe.

Just got the notice for the wife's Malibu. Seems she can loose power steering can go out at any time. But they tell me that I need not worry, they will get it fixed. As soon as they get the parts. Which will be some day, hell it's a 2006, so it's not like there's a rush or anything.

So which GM vehicles haven't been recalled so far?  That should be a shorter list than a recalled list.

Detroit Michigan, Jan. 2015

JD Powers announces GM rated most honest company in America, after recalling every vehicle ever made since 2004, over the past 13 months.

[Americans have such short memories, and hey, buy American]

All this means is the engineers messed up on the planned obsolescence timeline. Things are just breaking sooner than they wanted.

As far as recalls go, possibly not getting a warning chime that your seatbelt is not fastened ain't exactly on the "panic" list.

Sounds more like a paper towel, to me.

Well, speaks to overall shoddy engineering and/or workmanship.  But at this point GM's gonna recall for anything even remotely resembling a flaw.  They did create this situation.

1) Subby need to recall that defective headline

2) Are there people who just buy a car because they like the color? Are we talking people so rich a new vehicle is an impulse purchase?

Cause of they did any research at all in to reliability and repair history, they'd know not to buy GM, even without the recent avalanche of recalls.

I think models after T were an original Ford vehicle.

I called this a few threads back. I wouldn't be surprised if GM isn't recalling everything because a) it makes it look like The New GM(tm) is stepping up where the old GM failed and b) why the hell not. The damage has been done might as well knock out anything in the queue that has even a remote chance of turning into a recall down the road? Radio firmware update? screw issuing a service bulletin, just toss it into the recall list! Stickers put upside down on a latch in the trunk? recall!

While you comment, GM plots its next recall.

In fact, GM plans a huge operation: "Total Recall," the recall of all of their vehicles, ever.

Were they recalled fondly?

It will be bigger than Toyotathon and Honda Days combined!

Yukon, the vehicle of Mrs. X, which is old enough not to be subject to this recall.

But my '97 Silverado's still fine and dandy right?

While I agree, I do know that the chime in the cars these days are controlled by the computer (my buddy had the one on his new truck disabled), so less likely an engineering/workmanship and more a programmer who forgot to move the decimal over one spot.

Doesn't excuse it, still should've worked right the first time.

I'd pay to not have that farking feature.

And not a fark was given that day.

Anyone else freaked out by the stability in our markets?

GM RECALLS CARS BECAUSE THEY EAT BABIES

Shiat, I always do that. I always mess up some mundane detail.

They're gonna run out of their own cars and have to start recalling other cars by the end of the year.

2014-06-20 10:42:08 PM
I got a second recall notice from GM. I thought it was a duplicate for the ignition. Nope; it was for the power steering unit.

/My very own GM recall trifecta in play!
